For all the metal heads out there. A very cool and informative site.

Pretty cool...looks like, according to the creator, almost all my likes fall either into hard rock (and subcategories), thrash metal or, *ahem*, glam metal.

Cool, though they are totally missing the corporate tool sellout metal category for Metallica.

This must be what finding Jesus is like.

Although I find it strange that there have been no primary genres to emerge since the late 80s, and aside from death metal, there hasn't been any development in the past decade. There needs to be a fusion of metal and funk.

True, although I can't really think of any new genres that have come about in the last 10 years. I think Funk Metal is arguably encompassed by Nu Metal, but there's probably a good argument for it being it's own genre.

Why fuse metal and funk when we have Justin Bieber?

Because he is neither metal, nor funky.

They call themselves hard country last I heard. I thought that counted as douchebaggery. SO whatever genre Hootie and the Blowfish fit into...

1. I found Jesus, he was behind the couch the entire time.
2. I am still trying to figure out, if there has been no development... where all the crappy core music came from (scream core, emo core) I actually like some metal core, hard core, grind core and death core. But bands like Atreyu make me want to punch kittens.

NF,

I am honestly wondering if the people who made that Wiki have heard either Metal or Funk... Some of those examples they give are horrible.

Extreme? That would be like saying Slayer or Exodus in 1984 was R&B

Really? I had no idea, the last album I liked of theirs was the black album so I really didn't follow them much at all since, and not at all since the RIAA/DRM douchebaggery.

yeah.. when they released Pile of Crap, I mean Load and Reload... James said they felt they were more of a Heavy Country.

This prompted me to take all of the old Metallica CDs I had down to the local used record shop and get store credit.

Currently their ONLY redeeming quality is having RJ Trujillo. But I do not know if having one of the old ST bassists is enough to make them not retarded.
