I made a thread like this once before...

What's up? How are things?

I'm sitting at work doing nothing because like 90% of the company is on vacation. I'm at work because since the office technically isn't closed for business, someone from my department has to be around just in case something comes up.

I went to bed on Saturday night feeling fine, and on Sunday morning, I woke up barely able to walk. I went to a doctor yesterday, and she said that it's probably tendonitis of the achilles tendon or plantar fasciitis. Basically my right heel is messed up. Oddly enough, I woke up this morning and the pain was (almost) gone.

The doctor also told me that my blood pressure is really high, and if it's still high when I have a followup visit, I'll probably have to start taking medication. Meh.

I'm getting a visitor from up north flying in next week (assuming New England thaws out by then) and I'm going to have a nice birthday party next Saturday. I can't wait for that.

My brother's been living in my house while he goes back to school to finish his degree. I'll just say that I'm eagerly awaiting the day that he graduates.

Just chilling at work.

I woke up today to a backup alarm on my phone going off because one of my roommates tripped a breaker with his heater and reset my normal alarm clock. My house has some very weird electrical decisions.

Got to work about 30 minutes late, but that's okay, because I beat the boss by 45 seconds. Because of our client base and the current holidays, we've been pretty slow the past week and this week as well. I've been splitting my time between busy work to-do's, developing a new PHP photo gallery application and trying out some new designs in Photoshop.

I'm thinking I'm going to take the Best Buy gift card my boss gave me and get a replacement PS3 after work today. Will I play it today? Unlikely, as most of my time will be devoted to transferring save-games and seeing if I can downgrade/hack the new slim I'm sure to get. I was questioning whether or not I even needed a new PS3, and decided that I'm already pot-committed in 3D tech, wouldn't wanna waste it.

Just looked at the calendar; is it really only Tuesday? It's time for lunch and I think today is going to be In 'n Out.

Boring day at work, browsing through the dreaded hellfire for something to do for the next 5 hours.

More outsourcing today (Go Team India  ), more jobs let go today, new DVP (Divisonal Vice President) walked out for taking contractor kick back's (Thats what rumor has it as, im not in main Headquarters to have witnessed it), hopefully we will get rid of Team india with them being walked out today, puts us about 2500 US workers outsourced to India now *fumes*

But...Skiing this weekend *bounces* Some of you New Yorkers send some snow towards michigan!

Work this week is fantastically slow. Lot's of folks on vacation, etc...

Right now, work is a place to be, and not a thing to do.

I'm keeping myself busying sampling as many different kinds of chewing gum as I can find. So far 'Ice Cubes - Peppermint' has a slight lead over "Eclipse - Winterfrost". Sample sizes are small though. More testing required.

My free time to dick around in Photoshop has resulted in what might be my best website navigation. Which is not to say it's great, just maybe my best :P

Doing great. Started playing WoW again and it's pretty fun. Though today kinda sucks because I had my bottom left wisdom tooth pulled and now there's a bleeding, gaping hole in my mouth.

Also, I'm down to 187 lbs. Lost 83 so far (started at 270 in June). 17 more to my goal! Hopefully will hit it by my birthday.

I'm doing exceptionally well, thank you. 2010 was a remarkable year for me and my family, and 2011's star seems to have the potential to shine about 3x brighter.

Life is going along.

Congratulations to those doing well and best wishes for continued happiness. To those not doing so well, may your luck turn around and have 2011 be a year to be thankful for.

Don't want to be a downer, Kate, but parvo is very bad :( Have you been to the vet? I hope your puppy makes it, but please be prepared for the worst. :(

Caulking my tub enclosure. Waiting for the guys to grind the tree stump. Doubt that will happen for a week, because I had 5 inches of rain. On the other hand, the drain in the back yard has proven it's worth.

Had a rather chaotic week, with little brother and the fourth member of the team in town, and us all trying to cram as much laziness as possible into the week.

Also setting up the new laptop a bit at a time.

2009 and 2010 both had lots of low spots, with deaths in the family, surgery for my wife and many unplanned expenses. That said, there were plenty of high points as well including my promotion and potential for another one in the next six months.

We are looking forward to a safe and prosperous new year and wish everyone the best.
