Also this just made me realize that graphing calculators use 10 year old technology.

To be fair, despite the name, graphing calculators generally aren't used for graphing things. Most people who have them never use them to do anything that a $10 scientific calculator can't accomplish faster, and with less **** around with nested parentheses. Frankly, I only use my TI-89 for calculus and matrix operations.

Texas Instruments also makes most of its money selling to secondary schools, where the bulk of the teachers are intimidated by all of the buttons. There is absolutely zero incentive to make a better graphing calculator. HP has a model that will take Laplace transforms and their inverses, but there aren't that many customers who understand what that means, let alone consider it a strong selling point. The ones who do have access to programs like Mathematica and Maple. Honestly, I'm surprised Wolfram Research hasn't released an iPhone app.

I would totally buy a Maple or Mathematica app.

I despised being forced to learn mathmatica as part of math classes.
