Post subject: | Making your own online radio |
So I set up an online radio with all my music on my Ubuntu machine at my parents' house. I'm listening to it at work, and it's working well. It's against my company's policy to keep all my music files on my work computer. Anyways does anyone else do this? I'm using icecast and ices. |

Most people just buy an iPod. I've got all ~22,000 songs available in a small portable non-internet dependent appliance. |

I subscribe to Zune so I can stream music anywhere on a computer, or on my phone if I'm out. |

Also if I get more music I don't have to transfer it to a new device, which is a pain. I don't want to transport hardware around other than my phone and my work computer. Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just put some music on your phone? Winamp will even sync for you over wifi, so you don't have to hassle with manually copying it. |

I don't have a smart phone yet. Also I don't want to constantly charge my phone. What I do works pretty well so I probably will not change it. The radio plays anything I put into the Music folder. The only hassle was setting it up in the first place. |
