I will put on music to make housework tolerable, but that's because I can focus on it and push the housework into the background of my mind. If I'm reading or typing, music is just distracting. Actually, scratch that. I can handle classical or jazz as background music, which aren't really things I'd listen to otherwise. Can't do it at work, though. |

Music playing will overwrite the soundtrack in my head ... this morning, I heard an ad for a Mozart concert featuring the 40th Symphony, so right now that's playing in my head. I feel an urge for some Dread Zeppelin coming on, though, then that will stick with me for a few days. Speaking of soundtracks in your head, I can play whole albums in my head. Pretty much any classic Tull, Beatles, Zeppelin, etc., start to finish. In fact that's why I dislike listening to the radio - I always want to hear the next song on the album. Anyone else do this? |
