He wanted to make the Turkey the national bird, he did have a sense of humor.

I was just thinking that with the restriction we have on not killing the national bird, would we be having lasagna for Thanksgiving dinner instead?

I'm not sure we'd have the restriction. The current restriction is to ensure our national emblem doesn't go extinct. I don't think that's a threat with turkeys, as they're successfully domesticated.

As a country who eats both the animals on their emblem, I support Ben's appeal and thinks you should at least attempt to eat the stuff on your emblem.

Hehe... according to some theorists.... the bird will probably outlast that which it is the emblem for.
