The Glade 4.0

I am not sure if I mentioned that I had recently tried thinking people to death...

But around mid November: we found some sort of thing from a bank on our door, it gave no real information, but looking it up online... it was a division of Wells Fargo that deals with Short Sales and Foreclosures.

Being the rather irritable person I am... we immediately called the property manager. They seemed confused and contacted the landlord. The landlord said that everything was fine and he was not selling the house.

Well fast forward about a month... December 23rd. We receive a letter from the property manager saying that the landlord put the house up for a short sale; BUT, because of our lease... we were legally protected from Foreclosure as long as we kept paying the rent, and the bank had already been notified.

The Bank was apparently pressuring the property manager to get us the hell out, but with the receipts of our rent and the lease agreement we were safe. The property manager did; however, provide to us in writing, a statement that due to the circumstances beyond our control as tenants... if we decided to vacate the premise early, we could not be held liable for violating our lease.

This prompted us to start looking for a new place to live. We have been working with a really low pressure Realtor and he has been great. He took a lot of time with us and we saw a lot of properties each week.

On January 27th we provided our 30 day to GTFO notice. And tomorrow we go sign the lease for our new place. It is a few miles from where we currently are, but the kids will need to change schools.

We will be saving a bit on the rent, but the house is ~100 Sq feet smaller. Much roomier layout, and hopefully does not have wiring issues like the current place does. And from our walkthrough... it has better water pressure than the soon to be old residence did.
