So far it hasn't hit my area yet. When and if it does we will have a thin blanket of white for maybe half an hour. No shoveling will be needed. Cars will still go boom all over the valley. We don't know how to drive in that junk - seriously, 1/4 of snow and people blame it for their own stupidity.

On the other hand, some very good friends of mine outside Reno are in six feet of it. Being smart friends, they are well stocked, food, fuel, firewood, firewater, and many many extra blankets. Their satellite up-link is still working so they can tell us all about it, they don't have electricity other than their generator.

Two silly thoughts, cuddling time will be uninterrupted by their adult son coming by unannounced, and now is the time they always seem to try the recipes they've never had time for.

Oh, yeah, I walked the three blocks to the store and three blocks back this afternoon, in shorts and sandals. Wasn't cold enough (about 47 degrees F) to put on long pants or my Ugg Boots.

We will see what tonight brings, sweetie. Hugs to Foamy and the heir. Tell Foamy to give you a hug from me.

So, when are you coming out to visit?

I can't wait to see snow on the ground here! I know it won't be much if anything, but still...I remember the last time in 1976 when we got snow! My dad was not happy that I was taking a road trip at the time. OMG that was 35 years ago...I was just a sweet young thing at the time! :P LOL

I had a 25 drift along the side of my house that was about 3.5 feet high... Oh and it was right in the middle of the driveway.

There was apparently snow -actually, grauple, to be precise - in Glendale and Burbank here in Southern California over the weekend. Didn't hit our neighborhood, but we did see hail in another part of down, down near the harbor. It was pretty cool, melted in about 10 minutes, though.

Snow bypassed us and visited San Francisco for the first time in 35 years.

Oooh, I'll bet that was a hoot in their hilly environment!

It was a light dusting of the hills, only rain downtown. Not enough to be hootable, just glisten prettily for a half hour then melt off.

About a decade back, we were watching a Packer game at Zeke's, about three blocks from the Bay, and it started snowing. Everyone ran out of the bar and stood in the snow for the 10-15 minutes it lasted.

I dunno, at this point in my life, a light dusting would be pretty hootable. I've already warned the kids that if it ever snows at our house, they WILL be awakened, no matter what time it is!

This was the "graupel fall" in Burbank on Saturday. Looks like snow to me.

LOL- Notice the car tracks in the first picture, IDK if they were skidding or turning out of a driveway. Guess people out there have no idea how to drive in it.
