What quirks do you have? Little things that you do that make you feel better that have no real basis or necessity? Little routines? I'll start: When I buy a new game, console or PC, I like to keep the receipt for said purchase with the game itself. Never really had a need to have it there, it just somehow makes the game feel complete. In my parents kitchen, there is an island in the middle. The side door of the house to the driveway is a straight shot through the kitchen, passing by the island on the left. For whatever reason I can't understand, I will almost always detour around the island instead of walking by it on my way out of the house. If I ever am paying attention to where I am stepping when walking, I will avoid cracks in the sidewalk. Yes, I have heard the saying "Step on a crack, break your mother's back", but those who know me would think I would endeavor to step on as many cracks as possible. As soon as I see where I am stepping, I avoid them. It almost becomes a game. |

when driving, I sometimes pretend the toes on my left foot shoot a laser beam out. I have to trace the road on the left side without hitting a car, thus necessitating me lifting my foot 'over' every car I pass going the other direction. |

I eat my food one thing at a time...it's just wrong to mix food together. You have to savor each food group by itself |

I hate hate hate using pens without a cap on the back end as a counterweight. Pens designed without caps (i.e. clicky pens) are fine, but if it's a pen (or Sharpie, etc.), the cap has to be on the back. I'll put a pen back and select another one if available. If my lips get chapped and flakey, I have a bad habit of "gnawing" on them and removing the flakey skin. I'll do this to the point that my mouth muscles get absolutely sore, and even then I have to force myself to stop. I use my thumb to rub the tips of my other fingers in a number-eight, bisecting pattern. Dependent on which finger it is at the time, I'll do so with either the tip of my thumb or the thumb knuckle. I do this on both hands. Occasionally if I start a sequence I'll have to finish it, giving all fingers equal attention. I'll sometimes do this on my chin as well, and run my tongue along my front teeth (the crossover occurs through my diastema). When talking in my office to someone (anything more than a cursory chat), I virtually always have a pen in my hand, clicking it or popping the top off and on. |

I also find myself incessantly clicking my clicky pen at work. |

For me, I adjust my strides to step on every one, or every other one, and see how evenly I can keep my paces. I do this in tile hallways where there are regular seams in the pattern, too. My workplace drives me crazy, because it's blocks of probably 8" square tiles, and there are major seams in the blocks of grid that aren't always evenly spaced. So I'll *know* I've got my pace right, and will miss one, because it's a short segment. Kirra wrote: I eat my food one thing at a time...it's just wrong to mix food together. When my lips chap, I tend to pick at them to peel the dead, dried bits off, like you might for a sunburn. I overdo it and cut my lip less often than you'd think. |

I'm the same way. Just feels wrong without the cap. Other quirks of mine: * I still wish on the first star I see each night (and yes, I say the little "star light, star bright" incantation). * I periodically attempt to force-push objects (I swear it's gonna work one day). * When daydreaming (which is often), I tend to visibly gesture along with whatever conversation I'm having in my head. |

- I tap my fingers on my desk. It's not annoying to anyone though because I keep my nails short. - I wiggle my toes. This eventually erodes away the front of my shoe insoles. - I crack my knuckles. A lot. Each finger twice, my left wrist, sometimes my back. - I nearly always mouth the words to whatever song I'm listening to. - Sometimes when thinking I find myself biting the insides of my lips. |

I crack my neck. Without using my hands. It's like in the movies, when the big tough guy walks into the room, right before he pounds one fist into his palm menacingly. Except, he does it more slowly; mine's a quick shake of the head back and forth. It can be loud. People who aren't familiar with me doing it often ask if I hurt something. |

You would have to ask Katas, I don't know that I have any particular quirks, he might have noticed something. |

I am somewhat hypermobile. For instance I can stand and place my palms on the floor. |

One of my best friends can clap her feet, in a triple jointed manner. Freaks little kids out, then they try to do it and can't understand why it doesn't work for them. |

I do the same lazer beam thing as TheRiov, only I do it when I'm the front seat passenger. Only the lazer beams come out of my eyes. I crack my wrists by flicking them once and my upper back by flexing my upper back and shoulders, and leaning backwards. I hum to myself. |

I don't mix the food either, unless it is a sandwich, which for some reason does't matter to my brain. When I was young, I was taught to "count down from ten" when doing a task to stay focused (which is a horrible thing to do to anyone with OCD). Even today I will find my self counting down in the show, getting dressed, doing laundry, cleaning the garage mowing the grass... Playing video games, I'm the type of person that doesn't care how long it takes or how many tries it takes, I'm going to get 100%. I have many other quirks, mostly related to OCD, but these are enough. |

I don't like it when the food on my plate touches. I eat them all one bite here and there, but I don't like when they touch on the plate, haven't since I was little. I can't seem to break the habit of double-locking my car with the remote. I lock it, make sure the door is locked, then lock it again when walking away. I also check that the garage is closed more times than is probably usual. |

I eat from some of this and then some of that to vary the taste during the meal. I couldn't imagine eating all the pork chop then all the potatoes then all the peas. |

Okay, I've one quirk along these lines. I never take the same way to work twice in a row. I vary it up, still trying to find the perfect combination of traffic lights and as little congestion as possible. I'm not so picky o the way home. |

I try to go home either early or late to avoid the peak hours. It saves 20 minutes. |
