...that there are signs that have Braille on them that doesn't seem to make sense. The old saying "Why is there Braille on drive-up ATMs?" comes to mind here also. What I really mean is, why is there Braille on them in the first place. How would a blind person know it's there? For example, there is a series of hall closets here at work spanning about 15' of hallway. There are three separate doors to the individual closets and one of the three has a sign that says "Handicapped Accessible" and has Braille directly under that. How would a blind person know there is a sign there in the first place. If someone was there with them, wouldn't they just tell them what the sign says? |

Given some of my recent experiences in traffic, I'm not 100% sure it can be said that the blind aren't driving. |

Blind people are getting increasingly effective gadgets that take digital pictures and then read aloud what they need to know. |

I'm betting it's because they manufacture all ATM's identically, there is no designation between drive-up machines and ones in a mall, etc. |

Blind people know where to look for signs automatically around doors, ADA guidelines have specfic rules for sign placement how far from a door frame and what height. |
