Has anyone done this yet? I just heard about it today and it looks way cool...surprise, surprise, people are even doing this in my area so I may try to convince NF to check it out. http://www.geocaching.com/about/default.aspx |

Used in some ARGs I've followed(and some I continue to follow). I've never actually went out and looked for any, though. |

That actually looks pretty cool. We've got an attic full of junk we can leave when we find a cache. |

I've heard of it. The notion of participating has run through my head a few times, but that's as far as it got. |

I've talked to some friends who do it. Sounds like they have a blast. A few of them even do it in costume, as pirates hunting treasure. Yes, they do get stopped occasionally by people with badges. |

This is a very popular hobby up here. There are tons of web resources too. There are several 'cache's' in my neighborhood, although I've never bothered to track any of them down. |

A friend of mine and his wife have been doing this for years. I don't really get it. |

It's pretty fun. Especially to do with kids. I'm putting one together to strap to the underside of a local bridge for kayakers. |

So, what kinds of stuff should we expect to carry with us to put in the cache? I've read a lot so far but nothing about the stuff we should bring to put in or what we might be taking out. |

Nothing of value, but things of interest. If you get in a specialty area, like I am with my kayakers, it should be related. Old star wars action figures are good, a bobble-head, a really cool marble, a cool seashell, an old arrowhead, etc. In the kayak one, I'm putting an ornament with Santa kayaking, and these awesome paddle holders you attach to the side of your boat. The second object has value, but I don't need them anymore. |

Cool. That sounds right up my alley...I bet my son would love it too. I've got a lot of neat little things we could use. |
