What do you miss that they don't make anymore? A candy or food item? An article of clothing? Cars, for sure, that's obvious, but the little things that have been discontinued and you can't find anymore....especially shampoos and other things that perhaps the brand name still exists but the product is no longer the same? Post pics! Here's one: NF and I both miss these....those lifesaver suckers that had the cream flavors along with the regular flavor. Man, those were sooooooo good! I haven't had one in over 10 years. |

Oh don't go there...we'll spend the whole thread talking about TV shows we miss... Try sticking to actual tangible items that you cannot get anywhere. (You can still buy reruns of tv shows. ) |

Oberto Beef Jerky Crisps (really thinly sliced beef in the shape of chips, deep fried until extra crispy) They didn't last long on the market, for some reason. |

Wendy's Chicken Caesar Pita. One of my favorite fast food items. That pita was like crack. |

I am sure there are other things from a more distant past that I miss that I can't think of right now. A more recently discontinued item that I would like to see brought back are the Taco Bell Border Bowls. |

Ideal Bars - a cookie from Nabisco. I grew up with these, but Nabisco stopped making them about 30 years ago. Urban legend, perhaps, has it that they were only sold in Northern states, because the chocolate (dark) was so rich that it would melt in any non-air conditioned grocery store or truck. At least, they didn't travel well, I guess. There's a whole cult of people like me who would do all sorts of embarassing and/or nasty things to have one today. I'm sure it wouldn't be the same, though. And I can't find an image, since they were made (and discontinued) well before the age of digital photography and the need to document the minutiae of everyday life. A Google image search on "ideal cookie bars nabisco" comes up empty, at least for the first twenty pages. I suspect that Micheal, Taskiss, Jasmy, and .. SquirrelGirl? Khross? might know of these, but they all may come from warm climes and not have experienced the true joy of a peanut butter center surrounded by crunch graham-type cookie, covered with dark chocolate. I need my time machine, NOW. |

I know virtually all of the South calls it "Coke," but I adopted "soda," because it was the only one of the three (four, with "soda pop," I suppose) that made sense to me. I can understand "Coke," as it's that "market leader as shorthand" thing (i.e. "photoshopping" a picture, "googling" a search term), but I've always been more of a Pepsi guy personally. "Pop" just sounds...goofy. |
