Elessar has just doomed us all to a miserable hot hot hot summer. Many of us will suffer miserably. All because this northern outdoor enthusiast is pining for warmer weather. Let this be a lesson for you all, Canadians are jealous of American weather. |

Just come on down south for awhile, they are easy to find. Warm summers for you usually means blazing heat for us. |

So no other bikers on the board?? Not that I'm a biker haha. I'm not very good...at all. Is my first motorcycle though |

Oh, there are plenty of people who ride motorcycles who belong to the board. I'm not sure there are too many "bikers" though. Have fun, good luck and know that you will fall. Learn from the falls. |

I don't ride murdercycles. They offer no protection against the crazies that drive our roads in huge SUVs. |

My first vehicle was a motorcycle. Put over 100k miles on a Honda 450cc Rebel. Had to put her down when she blew a rod after I'd had the engine rebuilt. I miss her...sure my car has air conditioning and a stereo...but a bike's just more fun |

Between 16 and 20 I lost three friends to motorcycle accidents. One of them was ar fault, the other two were victims of impaired drivers. My sense of self preservation kept telling me I'm better off not trying to follow their examples. |

Enjoy your new ride. Invest in the best helmet you can afford. Protective gear too. Don't be one of those fools riding in a tank top and shorts. I've got a shredded spark suit that saved my hide (literally) and slowed me way down. |

I think Elessar has more chance to hit a moose than a SUV up where he lives. I agree with Emer...don't end up with a severe case of road rash! Have lots of fun with it |

Thinking about getting mine out of the metaphorical barn, now that it was 71 out at night last weekend. |

OK, first I was gonna come in and ask, "How old is that thing, Elessar? Looks exactly like one my roommate had in 1980." Then I looked at Hok's picture, and it occurred to me that I'm obviously living in a time warp. Sorry, non-motorized two-wheelers only, for me. My deathwish on a bicycle is bad enough to not have to add power. But, enjoy, hope it gets warm for you up there. |

Nice bikes everyone! Hok I love what you did with that, it has a real sweet profile look to it. I'm planning to do a couple minor adjustments ot mine, like change the signals lights to smaller, brighter ones, and make change the paint scheme. I'm definitely not skimping on the gear. I found a pretty nice leather jacket from a bike shop down in Toronto for $250, plus it matches with my bike sort of hehe. I've got my snowmobile helmet which has an interchangable lens system, so I'm going to pick up a clear and a silver lens for it, just to have a backup. Not to sure what kind of gloves to get yet though. Or pants. I am kind of runinng low on money, but I don't want to pay for it in the end haha. That weather is gorgeous up here today! I can't go riding because 1) I haven't learned yet and 2) I still have to take it in to get safety checked and then register it in Ontario. Should be ready by the weekend I hope though. |

I'm not wealthy enough to own an impractical means of transportation that can only be used 6 months out of the year. |

Thanks Elessar! I want to get another bike.. but I don't want to get rid of this one. Its a disease! Aethien, it's a 2003 if that helps? |

Crap, I thought it was an old Army motorcycle from the 1940s or something. I guess the disc brakes and still-shiny chrome should have clued me in. I mean, I ride in LA traffic, which I'm sure most people think is insane. |

Indeed. Likewise, it's a matter of degrees. I could rattle off personal friends of mine (well, former friends -- I've lost touch with that crowd since moving to Ohio) who are/were much crazier than me when it comes to technical stuff and crazy jumps, but I could also see several people I know watching a downhill at a good clip as I might take it and declaring it worthy of commission to an asylum. |

I'm going to show my friend who got me into bikes yours, he will love it I think. He's been doing some modifications to his and they look very similar. |
