Uggg. I am still trying to figure out why we have to see crap about this wedding. I mean really, do people in the U.S. really give a ****?

They're trying to paint a fairytale picture...the whole "prince and princess" sort of thing. The reality is that most people are not in awe or see this is a hallmark moment/happily ever after/fairytale kind of event....but, as always, the media is going to portray it that way and everytime there is even a hint of tragedy or drama in the royal family they will do slow motion montages of the wedding to further their little fairytale story...blech. (Where's the barf smiley??)

As it was explained to me:

British people have royalty instead of celebrity. The concept is pretty much the same and they serve the same purpose. The selection criteria is just different: alleged nobility instead of alleged skill.

So essentially, we have stories about the royals for the same reason we have stories about Lindsey Lohan and Branjolina. They are larger than life figures who live their lives under the media microscope. Since people inherently like to gossip as part of their sin nature, well known peoples such as these are an easy target.

It amazes me people are so excited about the wedding for a royal family we rejected a couple hundred years ago in favor of independence.

Yet we continue to tell our children fairy tales of princes, princesses, kings and queens.

That is odd. I tell my neices and nephews tales about brave revolutionaries fighting for the future freedom of their families.

I don't get it. What does this have to do with T-Mobile? Aside from the logo at the very end.

Somebody at T-Mobile had a cute idea and they ran with it. What does a bunch of people singing a peace song on a hilltop have to do with Coca-Cola?

The original inspiration

Clearly, they do. Americans eat this stuff up.

Celebrity weddings are one of the few positive things the media tends to go all out on. I just thought it was funny.

Meh. Can't say I'd be overly bothered if someone went all Cromwell on their asses.

I believe the question was: do people in the US care? I am in the US, no?
