I have a lot of friends from the Springfield, MO area, and some that even live in Joplin. The area has been ravaged by the tornado and there are even people looting and pillaging. No one I know is hurt or lost their house or has any immediate family that have, but it's still a huge mess with at least 116 dead. I hope they can recover quickly from this huge mess. |

This is the first time I've ever experienced a huge disaster happening to a place I've been...its a little weird. Sending hope and prayers out to everyone affected. |

Yeah, I've been to Joplin many times. It is about an hour from where my grandparents lived, and my cousin lived there for several years. I've heard that there are 1500 people unaccounted for. |

Hadn't heard about the looting yet, sad, but not surprising. The only thing I know about Joplin Missouri is that it used to be on Route 66. 122 dead and over 1250 injured by the latest radio report. I texted my friend to make sure him and his son were alright. He said there was some looting and the KC police were sent down to help out. |
