Post subject: | Vimeo BBCode |
I added a bbcode for embedding videos for Vimeo. It works like the [yt] bbcode, thusly: Code: [vimeo]http://vimeo.com/24320919[/vimeo] Apropos of nothing, there are also a few new phpbb themes available. Let me know if there are any others you'd particularly like to see. |

Edit: Also, subscript/superscript: Code: x[sub]1[/sub] + y[sup]2[/sup] = z x1 + y2 = z They don't nest. Sorry. It's a limitation of custom bbcodes, as far as I can tell. |

Hey, btw, can you nest spoilers, or do they fall under custom codes? |

I've not been successful in my attempts to nest spoilers so far. |

I didn't mess with it that much, but the impression I got was that custom bbcode nesting isn't possible without modding. You do get get inner-substitution with custom bbcodes, but it only does that substitution with built-in codes. So you can do this: Code: This [sup]is a [b]test[/b][/sup] This is a test But not this: Code: This [sup]is a [sup]test[/sup][/sup] This is a [sup]test[/sup] a 5-second google indicates that there is a mod for custom bbcode nesting, but I'd have to think long and hard on it before putting it into production. If you aren't careful, that kind of thing can very easily lead to XSS and similar injection attacks. Although I do note that it lets you specify the max nesting depth on a per-bbcode level. So at least you could disable nesting within, say, [yt] and [vimeo], where you really, really don't want someone to be able to inject. |

While it's now positioning itself as a YouTube rival, it initially was geared more toward professional/prosumer usage. Also, due to its initial focus, the stupid levels for comments and content are far, far lower. For now. Increasing usage will kill that in short order. Edit: Test. Edit2: Woot! |

Yeah; that's a good way of putting it. Most of what you see on vimeo has more or less professional production value, or at the least, "aspiring film student" production value. There are a lot of neat short films and such on vimeo that you won't find on youtube at all. Or, if you do, not legally and at (usually) lower fidelity. That sort of thing is what prompted me to add the tags, actually. I've been hooked on Short of the Week lately, and a lot of the content they feature is hosted on vimeo. |
