Just curious. I don't think my son has had a McFlurry in over a year....their ice cream machine is always broken and its not just the one here, its the one in the neighboring town and several that we have been to while traveling as well.
After a quick google search, I find it's pretty common for their machine to be "broken."

I know there is no way that the machines are actually broken...McD's would have done something about such a widespread problem if that were the case. Theories?

They need to be cleaned and no one wants to take the time/effort to do it. So it's "broken."

They are very difficult to clean. I worked at McDonald's during summer between my Junior and Senior years of High School(from April to November) and cleaning that thing was a *****. It's still no excuse to not have it cleaned, though. We never had to tell anyone ours was broken...but again, this was over 10 years ago.

Also, **** your kids(not anyone specifically, just all kids). I worked at the McDonald's that was in the same lot as a movie theater. **** your kids in the eye, I swear to god. Working Friday and Saturday nights was enough to convince me that I would never have children ever.

You may want to pick different expressions of frustration there buddy.

Yes, after googling some more, most of the accounts I'm reading are that people just don't want to clean the machine so they say that it's broken....I guess in a way that is a good thing because I've heard lots of stories about food-borne illnesses from the bacteria in soft-serve ice cream machines from not being properly cleaned.

Your anger is misplaced Raltar. It's not the kids' fault they were not taught how to behave.

Not at all. While your children may well be the center of your universe, and rightly so. They are not the center of mine, and if you act like they should be, I've got zero problem with telling you where the **** to go and teaching your misbehaving and poorly parented **** machine a few new words in the process.

Indignant, self righeous parents need to get the **** over themselves, quickly.

Good grief, ya'll. No one is saying you have to like our kids. You can hate them all day long. I just had a problem with the particular choice of words in the above statement.

And you need to watch your mouth. This is the general thread. I didn't come in here to read a bunch of nasty words. You're not usually so rude, Raltar. If you're going to talk like that, talk like that in Hellfire. Please don't talk like that over here, I don't appreciate it....its a thread about ice cream, for pete's sake.

I don't mean to be rude, but how are my posts in this thread different from any other thread that I post in?

Well, maybe I'm mistaken, but while you are usually blunt and off the cuff, I don't think I've ever heard you use those particular words together and especially just out of the blue answering a question about some ice cream?

And yeah, your choice of words, while I'm sure was not meant to be taken literally, offends me.

Seems to me you have a hatred of children, nonetheless.

If your beef is with the parent who is parenting badly, why the need to describe the poorly parented child as a **** machine?

You seem to have a hang up with children in general regardless of their parenting.

That's because of the terrible memories of working at McDonald's this thread has brought up. In any event, I didn't mean to offend you, but I'm not going to change the way I talk.

Not at all. I love kids, actually. What I have hang up with is shitty parents, often oblivious to exactly how shitty their parenting is, and the awful people they are raising their kids to be.

Fair enough. Then I think what LK and I seem to be getting at is save your rage and name calling for the crap parents who don't know how to properly parent.

A child running around in McDonalds making Raltar unhappy isn't doing so because he is a "nastly little **** factory", rather he has a jackass for a parent who would rather be their child's friend than to publicly discipline him.

Post subject:

Can you guys start a new thread in Rants or Hellfire to talk about shitty parents please? Thanks.

Anyway, I guess the whole ice cream machine issue boils down to employee issues....maybe they should come up with a way to make ice cream or a way to clean the machines that is more efficient?

Raltar:

I have to apologize.

I smashed yours and Rynar's posts together and mistakenly assumed you had said all of what I read.

My sentiment is the same, though and I would like to direct my above comments to him more directly than you.

Save the rage and name calling for the parents. The kids likely don't know any better because of them.

In deference to LK, this is my last post on the subject in this thread.

Actually, she is referring to an Ice Cream Machine. Though being a McDonalds product, I can see you would arrive at that name for it.
