Post subject: | My Cat Was Just Chased By A Turd |
I was sitting here on the computer just now when I hear rustling in the hallway so I get up to see which pet is making all the noise, and Jimmy-kitty comes tearing through the house like something is chasing her. She stops to fight something that looks like its dangling from her back end, and then, fearing for her life, leaps over couches and tables and chairs, yeowling like crazy, and lands on the windowsill. I go grab a napkin and find she has a very tiny little turd hanging out of her butt, still attached internally by one of my 2ft long hairs...tooo funny! Poor cat, hahahaha! |

agreed. Pregnant women should not be doing things like cleaning the kitty litter or coming in contact with cat feces. |

Thanks a lot. I'm eating my lunch right now and these almonds I've been throwing into my yogurt are looking a lot different than before I clicked on this thread. |

Ultimate dingle berry? I don't think that is what they have in mind, when they say add fiber to your diet. |

Jimmy-kitty is a girl? |

Mookhow wrote: Jimmy-kitty is a girl? Yep. We got her right after Jimmy died and we never could decide on a name for her; nothing seemed to fit her right or stick. She seemed to have an intuitive nature of knowing just when we needed comforting and when we were ok...so we decided Jimmy sent her and just started calling her Jimmy-kitty. She actually predicted this pregnancy 4 days before we got a positive pregnancy test. |

Dogs tend to stink if you don't bathe them every single day, and you have to take them outdoors for a walk and pick up their crap. Ick. My only pet is a small parrot. |

LK, I've not seen that happen to our cats with hair (which is surprising considering the length and quantity of hair on both Taamar and myself), but I *have* seen it with Christmas tree tinsel and I agree that it's one of the funniest damn things a person can witness |

That can't be true. It would be a large parrot if that were the case. |

They piss all over the place. Sure, you're cat's clean, but they just trashed your place. Quote: Dogs revel in filth. They will stick their nose in **** and have been known to occasionally eat it. Regardless, you can train a dog to crap outside. If you don't walk it, yeah, it'll crap on the floor, but it'll leave it there for you to find and clean up, rather than hide it. Dogs are dirty, but you at least know what they're up to. They don't try to pretend they aren't dirty. Besides, they have personality.... Edit: Some dog breeds are disgusting. Like those with the long hair on their face that drool all over themselves and get it all matted and stuff. |

My cat has only peed on my bed once, and that was because she was seriously injured. The only other times I have found excrement where it does not belong is when I go to long without changing the litterbox. |

Any kind of stress can cause some cats to behave this way... A new child, or pet... moving to a new house, holiday fireworks, etc... |

Hey LK Just to put your mind at ease a bit about the litterbox, my ob said i really Shouldn't do it or do it too often while pregnant he said that if you have been around your cats for awhile and have been doing it for A long time before you were pregnant your body as built up some immunities that will protect you and the baby from it if the occasional " scooping" is needed. Just wash your hands immediately after doing it and pawn the job on off to someone else like I did Foamy as much as possible. Hey and don't you have a son and step kids who are quite capable? |

My son and my husband clean out the litterbox for me. I just have to pick up the occasional stray turd after the dogs make off with one in their mouths when I'm not watching them around the litterbox, or like the other day, when I had to remove the turd that was "chasing" Jimmy-kitty. |

I might also add, try to keep the kitty out of your dining areas, since they are able to walk on counter tops and tables. Their paws can transfer nasties as well. Might consider daily wiping down of things, and maybe some Lysol spray to kill germs. You probably already have a good handle on all this though I had an inside cat long ago, who was able to open a top cabinet door (ones above the counter top) and get her treats in a ziploc bag down, tear the bag open and eat all the treats. Smart *** cat. |
