More often than not I spend at least half the night without being able to sleep, but I don't have a problem being tired during the day so I'm not too concerned.

I will say that I do love the peace and quiet of this place at 5 am. I get so much administrative **** done between 5 and 9 when the slackers finally show up.

Just putting it out there. I'm sure he's aware. I find the idea much more preferable to Ambien or other Rx's.

Before you go to bed, take a nice long shower, as warm as you like it. Relax into it and let it wash the grime of your day away. Your sweetie will appreciate it as well.

If you can't sleep....you need more exercise! When I run consistently, I sleep much better :)

Do you take naps during the day? Do you drink caffeine (at any point in the day)?

If yes to one or both, quit. You'll likely notice a difference.

Other things that may help:

- If you sleep in silence, you may find it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep if you have some sort of white noise in the background; like a fan.
- Determine what position you tend to sleep in (not fall asleep in, but what position you're in when you wake up). Are you uncomfortable and stiff in this position? You may need a different mattress, or you may need to force yourself to sleep in a different position.
- Is your room too hot or too cold? Uncomfortable temperatures also make sound sleep difficult.
