Just had an out of the area friend IM me to call a mutual friend (local to me and she knew I had the number) and tell her to get on line so they could talk. She couldn't find her phone and wa using McDonald's free wi-fi on her laptop. Done and done, then I left the loop. Is this type of thing common nowadays? |

Same here. I lost my cell phone recently in a job transition and haven't even got another one yet. I'm using google voice for texting and my ipad for e-mail, connected anywhere there's a wi-fi connection. |

Is for me too. I have my phone with me all the time, but most of the time it's easier to text or use google talk, because you can do that anywhere you are, can't always call. |

Heh, I think he means not so much the technology or what you use, but the idea of contacting someone to get someone else on the line so you can talk to the other person. Not for me, no, Michael. |
