Anyone have suggestions for spray or dust or something that will kill and keep spiders away? We have a storage unit right down the road from our house and it has been invaded by three(at least the three I can see *shudder*) very large female black widow spiders. I'm thinking of suiting up and just squishing the little demon spawns but if I miss, they will be back, and they will remember, and they will find out where I live and extract their revenge. I'd like to kill them and do something to keep their kin from filling in when they go to meet their unholy maker. |

Bug bombs. http://www.lowes.com/pd_93086-316-93086 ... facetInfo= They kill off spiders and all the bugs they feed on. I do it once a year and it keeps the buggers at bay. |

Take off and nuke the site from orbit. Only way to be sure. |

If this is a rented storage space, what's to stop them from reinfesting from neighboring storage units? Suit up for battle. Bring a shop-vac to suck up any spiders you see while you clean out your storage. Douse the whole place with gasoline. Set it on fire on your way out. Bill the landlord for your services. |

http://pests.getridofthings.com/get-rid ... widows.htm Quote: For outside the home. Before filling foundation cracks and holes, apply something like Delta Dust Insecticide (active ingredient: deltamethrin) or Drione Dust (active ingredients: pyrethrins, piperonyl butoxide, and amorphous silica gel) to help avoid future invasions. For spraying trees, plants, and lawn, Spectracide Triazicide Insect Killer. Demand CS (active ingredient: lambda-cyhalothrin) is a good spray for outdoor foundations.
Sprays for direct contact. If you've got one of the little nasties in your sights, hit 'em with a non-residual aerosol spray like 565 Plus XLO (active ingredient: pyrethrins) or CB-80 Extra Aerosol (also pyrethrins). They're both safe to use and have a quick knockdown and kill time. Dusts. These work quite well for out-of-the-way places like basements, attics, wall voids, and crawl spaces. Look for products like Drione Dust and Delta Dust Insecticide (both mentioned above). EcoExempt D from the EcoSmart Company is a plant-based (hexa-hydroxyl) insecticidal dust. Liquid spot treatments. These are generally available in powder form and are mixed with water to be used as a residual spray. Demon WP Insecticide, Cynoff EC, and Cynoff WP (active ingredient: cypermethrin) all come highly recommended. Demand CS (see above) can also be used indoors as a spot treatment. |

I just went in to get several bags of maternity clothes for a friend, and just my luck, the stuff I wanted was all the way in the very back under a bunch of other stuff. I had to climb over mattresses and move boxes and walk right over webs with Black Widows in them...there are LOTS of those suckers in there! I saw at least 4 fully mature females and evidence (webs and insect carcasses) of several more. I killed one, (sorry!), but only because it ran under the handle of a bin that I needed to move. I plucked out and squished an egg sac from another web....from everything I read, I thought she would defend the sac but she ran away from me. They all did, which made it easy to get my stuff...I just banged a lot of things, talked to myself out LOUD, and stomped when I stepped and thumped stuff before I picked it up. Plus, I was using an iPhone so I had to get pretty close to all of them in order to get these pictures. Attachment: IMG_2176.JPG [ 10.17 KiB | Viewed 2939 times ] |

Save the spiders, nurture them, and send them to Nitefox's ex when the kids are with you. |
