Just found and read this article. It was written by a gal where she basically meets the world champion of magic the gathering and in so many words posts that she's proud of the fact that she's too good for this guy and that he needs to get a life. And the most infuriating part is that she is posting it on gizmodo. Yeah, what a great place to post about how nerds are all losers. I don't know if she's really that much of a shallow *****, or if she's just smart enough to get a massive amount of hits. But I am going to bet on the former. If I had went on a date with a lady who confided in me that she was the world champion in hairdressing or My Little Pony designs, I would think to myself, "Well, I am not into that stuff. But I think that it's awesome that she is the number one person in the world at it! In her circle, she's a celebrity! Sweet!" I think she passed up on a guy who wasn't going to treat her like a whore (the kind she probably gravitates to) and the Magic dude dodged a huge bullet. |

This a huge thread on a MTG board I frequent. This was one posters reply which I pretty much agree with. Quote: Everyone's got their thing.
If I went out with a girl who chewed her nails, I'd probably just find every way possible to end the date then and there. It being my biggest pet peeve. I agree that she was not very nice and that her immaturity truly "outshines" any other potential qualities though. I don't think she's a ***** for it though. I'd never date fat girls cuz...they're not attractive, no matter how smart or interesting they may be. So it's not abnormal for someone to not want to date someone else because they find their hobbies too nerdy. To each their own. |

She's a ***** because she did this in such a public way. I don't dig that. She's normal if she finds something in another person that she doesn't care for and it doesn't make said person attractive to her. |
