Early 2012 we're taking a Caribbean cruise (adults only, kids are staying in school with family babysitters coming over.) We're visiting the following locations: Grand Turk Island (Turks & Caicos Islands) Catalina Island (Dominican Republic, 1.5 miles off the coast of La Romana) Aruba (Netherlands Antilles Islands) Curaçao (Netherlands Antilles Islands) I'm wondering if anyone has travelled to these places, and know of any "must see" spots that someone spending a day on them should go to. Taking a short boat trip from Catalina Island back to La Romana is a possibility, if we think it's a good idea. |

I've been to Grand Turk. I stayed mostly around where the ship docks. There is a beach right there. It wasn't a bad beach, minus the fact that your view is of the cruise ship. I know there were other beaches that you could take a taxi to. There are quite a few shops, bars, and restaurants right there. I had a few off the wall drinks at the Margaritaville there. It was a nice clean island, not my favorite but Ive been to much worse. |

I got married in Aruba. The place I loved was called the Natural Pool. It's a gorgeous place to swim and to get there you can go by horseback, rent jeeps or I think they have Atv's that go there also. Snorkeling there is also wonderful! |
