its not meant t be good Foamy, its to appeal to the action movie loving misogynist out there, which would sell a lot of soda.

I've tried it, meh, about as good as the commercial.

This is Dr. Pepper's (bottled/distributed largely by Pepsi) response to Coke Zero

Quote:
It is a low-calorie (0.75 calories per liter) variation of Coca-Cola specifically marketed to males, who were shown to associate 'diet' drinks with women.
[...]
Coke Zero was Coca-Cola's biggest product launch in 22 years.[6] It is primarily marketed towards young adult males[7] and has even been nicknamed "Bloke Coke".[6] The launch started in Spain, on Wednesday 21 June 2006.[8]
In the U.S., advertising has been tailored to its targeted market by describing the drink as "calorie-free" rather than "diet", since young adult males are said to associate diet drinks with women.[9]

I'm not making this up.

I thought this was going to be a thread about reason and accountability.

This is actually really, really good. I LOVE regular Dr. Pepper, but had to give it up because of all the sugar and calories in it. I've been drinking Diet Dr. Pepper for a while now, but it's just not the same, no matter how much they tell you, "It's just like regular Dr. Pepper." It's not even close. But it's okay for a diet soda.

But this 10 calorie Dr. Pepper is the $h!t. It's awesome, and tastes oh so very close to the original. I can actually drink my Dr. Pepper again! The problem is, it will never catch on in restaurants. I mean Diet Dr. Pepper and Coke Zero have been out for years, and I'm just now starting to see a handful of places that serve them.

I recall in the mid 80s when Diet Dr. Pepper first came out it actualy did taste just like regular.

Caleria, don't worry about inconsiderate people that only drink the regular stuff (and want to give diet drinkers crap) I'm with you. I started drinking diet soda when I was a teenager and got braces and was threatened with bodily harm (by both the orthodontist and my parents paying for them) about drinking regular soda.

Since then I cannot stand the syrupy feel and sugary taste of regular soda. However, diet soda drinkers don't have a lot of options. I fall into the diet coke category (I do not like diet pepsi), but like changes with Diet Dr. Pepper and Cherry Zero.

Diet sodas are horrid, and the only people who like them have something very wrong with them at a basic psychological level.

Aside from the fact that I don't want the many calories that regular soda has to offer, I have completely adjusted to diet soda.

I do not like the taste of regular soda any longer. Yes, store brand diet soda can be pretty yucky, but give me a diet Pepsi over just about anything else, please.

Diet soda exists because for some reason, people can't just drink less soda. I manage to go weeks at a time without drinking soda.
