I was listening to the radio coming back from lunch and I was tuned into our local "Classic Rock" station. I've noticed over the last few years that they've been adding more and more bands from the '80s to it. Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, etc. Today, though, they were playing "Life is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane. I was expecting this eventuality, but didn't think it would be here already. This song was released in late 1991. Classic Rock now encompasses the '90s. I am simultaneiously both in celebration and in mourning. |

Dude, that's 20 years ago. The classic rock station here has been playing Nirvana's Nevermind (also 1991) for a couple years now. P.S. We are all so old. |

Get off my music ya darn kids ya. Classic rock is still 50's to 70's. The 80's were an abhorrent decade. The 90's, got better. But I'm thinking of telling my daughter classic rock now encompasses the year she was born. |

U2, REM, Cars, Smiths, Police, Foreigner, Journey, Talking Heads, INXS, Psychedelic Furs, Phil Collins, Genesis, Billy Joel, Tom Petty......and on and on. Bands that kept on rocking still on the scene with Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, FleetwoodMac...... |

Seriously, just sit down and drive around in GTA: Vice City for a couple hours, then you shall see. The soundtrack for that game is essentially a love letter to 80's music. |
