I find 6 to be exceedingly handy. You can divide it into either 2 or 3 equal parts.

The question was not in regards to perfect numbers, but superior. There are two superior single digit numbers: 2, and 6.

Obviously, we must have them fight, and crown the true superior number.

Two shall enter [with six], one [two or six]shall leave!
