Location: The battlefield. As always.
I am paid on an hourly basis, with time and a half for overtime.

I work for the same company/franchisee/owner/holding company/WHAT THE ****EVER in two locations.

Do I wind up with overtime if I wind up working over 40 hours combined in both locations, or is it only tracked by individual location?

Or is this an "ask your boss" (who manages both locations, so my direct boss and ultimate boss are still the same) kind of issue?

As long as its the same company, it SHOULD be both sites hours combined = OT... but the laws may be different where you live, so double check with your boss :)

No, because he does make overtime.

Dalantia, it might come down to something like, "Did you apply for the two jobs separately?" (or, well, hiring process, etc. etc.)

How many W4's did you fill out for the two positions? Not that this is a foolproof answer (because they could be doing it wrong/illegally), but if you've filled out two W4's, as far as the government knows, you're working two independent jobs. If you've filled out only one, well... they should be paying you lots of overtime, AFAICT.

IANAL, and IANAA.

I didn't fill out an application for the second position, it was phrased to me as "hey, you need more hours?" kind of thing.

I'm not -at- the point where I'm getting overtime yet, but all that would have to happen is someone showing up late enough to be recordable.
