6.8 billion dead from the highly infective and deadly Fungal disease, TreeFunk and the world lives on because it never spread to Greenland? WTF! Seriously, for $0.99, this game is totally worth it. -Multiple pathogens (unlockable) for starting out your disease. (Name your disease) -Customize your disease with multiple transmission vectors, how it kills, and what it is resistant to. -Respond to world events (Massive bird migration...make sure your disease can infect birds) -Watch your disease, at first slowly, creep across the globe unnoticed. Unnoticed that is, until you ramp up the lethality. Watch humanity die in droves. I am stuck on Fungus at the moment. Spent enough to ensure transmission across the globe, (except f***ing Greenland) and had enough to make it lethal, but had do devolve infectivity. Add to that the world shutting down all air and seaports and Greenland was safe. Didn't even have enough for the Sporeburst to, hopefully, infect them. Alas, I will have to try again. Hooked on this game, I am. |

So its like Pandemic but you have to pay for it? |

Better than Pandemic. The creator of it used Pandemic as a jumping off point and made it better in ways that he liked. Many of the reviews from ppl who have played both prefer Plague Inc over Pandemic. If you like Pandemic, you will love this. Worth the dollar. |

Crimsonsun wrote: damn you foamy - damn you! Did I hook someone? BTW, finally beat Fungus and unlocked Parasite. It's special evolution ability is symbiosis and by upgrading it, the parasitic infection can go unnoticed even when several benign symptoms have mutated. Often the entire world is infected and dying before a single doctor notices it and makes a correlation. Unfortunately, once again Greenland stood alone with the rest of the world dead or dying. Next time, going to start it in Iceland, up the water and air transmission and hope that a ship sails that bug right on over to them. So interesting and fun to try and find each pathogen's strong and weak points and use them to best destroy the world. I beat Virus on the first try by letting it mutate out of control and I focused my spending on spreading it quickly and making it as resistant as possible. |

I'm liking it. Took me a day to get past bacteria. I got virus in one go and I'm currently 0-1 with the third one. Crabtoes will destroy all! |

The parasitic infection, Wormtail, has now killed nearly 7 billion, but thanks to the tireless work of the 5 people in Greenland infected with it, it will surely be eradicated in 10 or so years. They can then move to Iceland and repopulate the earth with the survivors holding out there. Note to self: Make sure Cold resistance is ramped up or start infection in Iceland and make sure Greenland is infected too before evolving the deadly symptoms. Also, in case of a real life global pandemic, I'm moving me and the family to Greenland. |

This game is deliciously evil and addictive. I didn't beat my first round (Mucusmo will be avenged!) but I killed 76% of the world. Russia and Greenland were noticeable holdouts. Back to death! |

Greenland only has a seaport, at least it did when I played bacteria. Also, nobody ever goes to Greenland. So, you can't rely on airports to infect Greenland. It won't work. You have to do avian carriers or water-born enhancements. Problem is, a lot of that stuff doesn't work well in cold environments. You need to buy a cold resistance enhancement. You have to make sure you're thoroughly entranced throughout the world before you start offing people. Fatal symptoms need to be the last thing you take. If you evolve a vicious, nasty human-killer too early, one country can quarantine and wait you out. Bugs, birds, livestock, and rodents all get exterminated, borders get closed, air travel is shut off, ship travel is banned, and you don't get in. |

Having only played Virus once (Won on first try), the lethal first strategy worked amazingly. I don't remember specifically how it played out, though. The virus will mutate uncontrollably, but it COSTS to devolve symptoms. I let this work while focusing on transmission and resilience. Somehow it worked out, but I wouldn't recommend this strategy with the earlier pathogens. Parasite is lots of fun. Spreads quickly and goes unnoticed for so long. Can't believe I haven't completed it yet. EDIT - Updates coming. I sent feedback to the developer and have received a response from him directly. There will be more global events and other possible upgrades. He has been very receptive of all feedback, so if there is something you'd like to see in an update, lay some feedback on him. |

I still can't get past bacteria on normal :\ By the time Im spread enough out, i have like no DNA left to evolve deadly stuff to kill them |

Canada just sits there after first infection while red rushes over every other country like wildfire. |

Canada dies in the end, just like everyone else. Good medicine, cold, sparsely populated. Not enough to stop Doomydoom! |

I've beat Virus & Bacteria on brutal and everything else except Bioweapon on normal. The trick is to keep your disease under the radar as long as possible (preferribly until you have infected every country at 100%) . Limit yourself to Coughing (sneezing is ok usually on normal, --it gets noticed but no one seeks a cure.) ON brutal you pretty much have to go with only coughing. Bank your DNA on most things until you're ready to kick it off. Note symptoms from the bottom are usually higher threat (and make it harder to cure) but people react to them quicker. Rash, Coughing, Sneezing, etc are low threat so wont make countries charge off to dump money into research) On Virus only use transmission vectors that don't increase mutations (so water & air) And always have 5 points to boot unwanted symptoms. When you're ready to kill everyone dump your points into things that cause mutation. (animal/blood transmission vectors, viral instability, immune system suppression) Prion took me a couple of tries until I realized that even banking points I couldn't simply dump them all into lethality. (it takes a while for any evolutions, symptoms or abilities to take effect) make sure you buy your levels that affect neuron function well before you start adding symptoms. that should slow cure development enough for your lethal symptoms to kill them all. |

Any insight on the achievements? More specifically, the disruption of the iCure, infecting the astronauts before their mission, or having the U.S.A. nuke either China or Russia. With update 1.2 out, he has apparently added more events. I just haven't quite figured out how to interact with them. The bird migration and the London Olympics were the only ones I have seen actually affect the game. Just haven't figured out any of the others. Re: Prion Pathogen Stuck on it currently. So you're saying that when evolving lethality, they effects don't occur immediately? Also, it's special ability (Neural Atrophy) didn't have a discernable effect. Did you notice what it is actually doing when evolved? |

Also, it's special ability (Neural Atrophy) didn't have a discernable effect. Did you notice what it is actually doing when evolved? Any changes you make to the Prion take weeks or months to replicate out. So if you buy neural atrophy it has to hang out for a lengthy period of time before it does anything. That makes it harder to use the wait-and-pounce strategy. I bought all 3 levels when I still had a good 2/3rds the world to infect, along with several levels of hardening-- I also went with symptoms that significantly affected cure time. Anemia+Insomnia, Paralysis, Insanity, Coma. That gave me time to for my lethal symptoms to kick in. (Increases in cure time take effect immediately, but your kills wont kick in until later) When not playing with viruses, I tend to use mutations to fuel my DNA, so mainly concentrate on Animal & Blood vectors (Which increase mutation rate) and then continually devolve everything except coughing until i'm ready to strike. YMMV though. I'm having problems with using that strategy for fungus on brutal. (probably because i'm having to put points into water transmission to get Greenland, Iceland, New Zealand, New Guinea ) |
