My house guests just left today. My friend comes every few months to see her oncologist, and uses my place as home base during repeated trips to the hospital.

It's great to see her and her family. I feel wrung out when it's over, but I wouldn't turn it down because there might not be a next visit. She's at months to a year, in all likelihood, as it's now stage 4, metastatic, and in the brain/spine. &%#!! cancer.

My daughter and her son (6 months older) still are great friends when they're together. They camped out downstairs the last two nights. It was pretty cute. I should have taken photos.

That sounds emotionally and physically exhausting, but totally rewarding.
I can't believe you didn't take pics! You'll regret that...hopefully there will be a next time and you can have the camera ready.
Sweet of you to take care of your friend and her family through all of this.
Go get some rest.

You're a kind heart to be so helpful and open your home to her and her son. So often people feel bad and do nothing.

Kuddos to you! Now treat yourself without any guilt.
