I don't remember if we already had this pass through the Glade, so I'm posting it now.

You may choose one item and have all the powers associated with it. I am not thoroughly familiar with all the the abilities granted by each of the items, so it can be a little open to interpretation.

The one that I can find with a google search isn't the original one I remember, as there were other items on the list that I can't currently remember.

So, which one will it be and why. GO!

The power scales on these are way off.

Portal Gun, Pokeball & lightsaber are fairly limited in application. (one is only good for capturing & containing & releasing pokemon, one only good for making doors/passages in a limited area, and one really good at cutting stuff -unless the lightsaber grants full use of the Force, (rather than just the saber related techniques)

On the other hand, the Ocarina would grant time travel, so a lot of potential there, but IIRC the time jumping ability is fairly limited.

The One ring grants invisibility, and if you have full access to its powers, limited power over the will of lots of people. Good for ruling nations, but even Sauron at his height, with the ring, lost in single combat against a Numinorian.

The Elder Wand & the Green Lantern ring are totally different animals though. The full suite of powers granted by them is beyond exceptional. Putting the Elder Wand in comic parlance, matter creation, teleportation, flight, death beams, energy blasts, mind control, shields, telekinesis, Invisibility, space manipulation (TARDIS effects) ... so I'd have to go with the Elder Wand.

Yeah, it's pretty much no contest. Elder Wand. Or any wand, really, beats out the others.

Ok, if it so imbalanced, why don't we leave out the Elder Wand.

As a matter of fact, that's exactly what I'm going to do...It's my poll. :P

Re-choose.

I guess the Green Lantern power ring is still the far and away most powerful item on the list despite it needing a recharge every 24 hours (or whatever the limitation is) Is a rechargeable battery a fair price to pay for limitless power, I guess so.

So, I guess the Ring would have to be my first choice. A close second would be the Portal gun with the Light saber a close third. As much as I would like to have a light saber, the potential for severing limbs is too great especially since I have no swordfighting experience. On the plus side, the wound is immediately cauterized.

Really? I would say GL's ring pwns the Elder Wand. I'm having trouble thinking of anything we've seen the Elder Wand do that the GL ring hasn't, and mind control is pretty much all I can come up with. On the other hand, we've seen the GL ring do tons of things the Elder Wand never has (deflecting comets going tens of thousands of miles an hour; traveling through hyperspace (or whatever it's called in the DCU); traveling to other dimensions; etc. At the very least, I'd say it's a toss up.

To be fair, we haven't seen the GL ring do anything. Never watched or read anything GL related, so you may be right.

GL ring cannot create permanent objects, nor does it allow for invisibility or teleportation as far as I'm aware.

Teleportation no but when you can fly faster than the speed of light does it really matter? The ring is only limited by the imagination of the user.

<---------knows nothing of the Green Lantern universe

If it limited by only the imagination of the user, why can't one teleport?

A quick wiki read about the ring and that thing seriously needs to be nerfed. :P

I like the idea of jumping around waving a light sabre. This could easily defeat the other items...just slice off that finger that had the GL ring!

The Gold Watch would be an interesting addition. It has only one power, it stops time.

Hummm...if you desire time travel, you should have gone with a TARDIS.

Kirra seems like a budding Isildur.

If the Portal Gun weren't limited to moon dust... I'd totally choose it over a GL Ring. It was also hard to NOT choose lightsaber, but lightsaber's only good if you have the reflexes to deflect ranged weaponry.

You guys need to think hard about this. Pokeball.
Pokeball contains lv 30 meowth.
Use move payday.
Become insanely rich.
The question now becomes Iron Man suit or Bat-cave.

The Pokeball may also contain a level one Pikachu. Death from cute overload.

The pokemon inside the pokeball is not listed, therefore nothing is certain.

Green Lantern Ring, 100%, no questions asked... wait... no... one question: does it come with the recharging lantern?

Post subject:  Re: Pick one item...

The thing that's tripping me up is the "all the powers associated with it" part.
In my mind, that means that choosing the light saber means getting all known force powers - which is pretty cool.
On the other hand, are "great imagination" and "force of will" considered powers associated with the Green Lantern ring? Cuz the ring wouldn't be worth much to someone who couldn't effectively put it to use, but the rings don't choose wielders without those qualities, so it could be assumed.
