Ok, new idea for a game. Quote the very first spoken line from a movie and see who can guess it. Honor system here, No using the interwebs unless one goes a while without being guessed. Guess it right and post an new one. I'll start with an easy one: Some guy in a movie wrote: "I believe in America. America has made my fortune."

Ok I think 24 hours is long enough to continue the thread with the asterisk that Farsky's is still unanswered. I'll continue it with an easier one. Quote: Hi. Welcome to the future. San Dimas, California, 2688 and I'm telling you it's great here. The air is clean. The water's clean. Even the dirt is clean.

Totally thought we were just doing movie quotes. (working80-100 hrs a week on an insane project scrambles your brain) |

Darkroland: I know that line is from Die Hard, but was it used elsewhere as the very first spoken line to a movie? |

FarSky's is the "The Third Man". And my quote is ... Quote: Clear the Mechanism.

That seems suspiciously like "For Love of the Game". Quote: Looking for some action.

Official ruling: Farsky's had lapsed and Darkroland posted next, followed by a correct answer from Aizle, then myself, Oonagh, and then Kaffis who did not post a new one. As Shuyung's is the only answer outstanding, we shall continue from there. Reposting for continuity. shuyung wrote: Looking for some action.

Moving things along as we seem to have stalled... Shuyung, I can't seem to find a clear answer on your posted line. Little help for those of us wondering, please? New line, again an easy one. Quote: "I was 12 going on 13 the first time I saw a dead human being."

Mine is something of a trick. Those are the opening lines to the movie, and are also the opening song. This particular movie is somewhat special in that the soundtrack is intrinsic and counts as part of the script. I believe yours is "Stand By Me", by the way. |

Same thing here. I had a hunch based on a Google search, but wasn't sure. Anyway, Shuyung you are right on mine (Stand By Me), so you are up once again. EDIT - Was your's "Heavy Metal"? |

It was "Heavy Metal". Quote: "Lord-to-goodness, not again." I considered setting the scene, but we'll see how it goes. |
