Uh, Marriott, I guess. Never heard of the other.

Edit: Ah, I see. They're a group with a bunch of brands. Would still go Marriott. No particular reason why.

Now, to give fair warning: the bulk of my experience with either brand is at Dragon*Con. So it's not exactly typical conditions to judge customer service and the like.

But I've been to two Marriotts as a guest -- one on business (was nothing particularly notable either way), one at the Con (one of the better hotels at the con from a facilities and layout perspective).

I've stayed at the Westin at the Con, and it's been pretty nice. But the Sheraton at the Con seems to have staff that actively seek to find new ways to express their loathing for the Con guests and to actively make them uncomfortable and angry.

Where will you be likely to go and which brand has the most places covered?

I tend to think Marriott, but one of the nicest places I've ever stayed is the Westin Paloma in Tucson.

I like the DoubleTree in Murfreesboro, TN. Fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies at checkin FTW!

Strangely, turns out that I'll be staying at a Westin in a week.

This.

Don't forget, you'll be loathing a Sheraton in a week, too.

Oh, my Sheraton loathing ebbs and flows, but never entirely dissipates.

I stay in a lot of hotels. I generally look for those that are part of the 'leading small hotels in the world' branding alliance.

The Alex , in midtown nyc is nice. The American Colony in jerusalem is great. Marriot, hilton, cambria suites, double tree, etc... They're all basically the same. Brown, businessmans hotels.

(although, looks like something may have happened to the brand - lwh looks different now to last time i used it)

I'm just traveling a lot for my new job, so I guess the emphasis should be on quality of the rewards over quality of the hotels, in terms of the poll.
