I am here now. It's not nearly as bad as Disneyland. I am currently waiting for the highly popular d&d session of acquisitions incorporated to start. I am about 5 rows back, and I had to line up 3 hours in advance for that.

Totally worth it.

Great convention so far on the whole.

I recently discovered those sessions and they are damn entertaining.

As of this writing, 1535 Photos from Dragon*Con.

I'm pretty sure some of the people didn't understand that opting into the automatic event sharing meant *all* of their new pictures for the duration would be shared, so there are some amusing "why did they shoot this?" things like shots of empty hotel rooms and such.

But man, props to G+ for coming up with such an easy and streamlined way to crowdsource photographing events and centralize the results. 172 photographers aren't all good, but most of them aren't bad...

It's really a blast. More people should come, 40,000+ geeks and nerds descending upon Atlanta for a weekend isn't enough. ;)

Too many people...I would crawl out of my own skin.

Speaking of PAX photos and Acquisitions Incorporated, here's some more.

Spoiler:
That was the line for Ac-INC. If you look hard enough way back beyond the trees, see all those people? Yeah, that's part of the same line. And yet, the line extended even further than that (it went back at least a city block) and snaked back around several times. Two-thirds of all the people you see in that picture thought they would beat the crowd by showing up an hour early (hint: they were a little wrong). Not only were we at the front of the line, but we were some of the very lucky few who had shade (though I guess the folks by the trees did too).

Waiting in line that long made me realize something. There is one crazy man per hour that comes by and visits the line and gets angry enough to want to attack. One in particular was to the point of getting violent with one of the attendees. He had asked what the line was for, and didn't like the response he got (he wasn't going to like ANY response he got) and his anger and rage only started to escalate. I realized then that being at the front of the line did not have perks if it came down to a shooting.

Spoiler:
Had a great view of Chris Perkins, Wil Wheaton, and Scott Kurtz.

Spoiler:
Speaking of Chris Perkins, he was at another panel we made sure to attend: Ask a DM. Front row seats again, a few posed for a quick photo minutes before the panel started. I made sure to shake Rodney Thompson's hand (guy on far right) as we were filing out and small-talking together, since he was the guy who did the bulk of the work on the Star Wars Saga Edition (which I am currently running a campaign in).

Numbuk,

I hope you swore an oath to not talk about how awesome Seattle weather is in the summertime?

I did. But the traffic and what all the 50 degree grade hills did to my clutch has begun to nullify it. I assume the bulk of Seattle is nice. I never saw anything but downtown. I do not like downtown Seattle. At all.

Sounds like you were debriefed well...

Edit:
P.S. I detest downtown Seattle as well. Did you at least make it down to the Waterfront?
