My wife and I are going to London soon to visit my brother and his girlfriend. They just moved there this summer, so they have had a little time to explore but are still London newbs, really.

We have a bunch of stuff planned (or at least sketched out) to do and see, but I'm wondering if there are any recommendations from our UK Gladers, or anyone in the know, for favorite pubs for food? Mainly in London I would say, but we are probably going to Oxford too. We've heard from several folks that 'you gotta eat pub food!', so I'm looking forward to that along with some good ale.

Also, we'll be doing some of the obvious touristy stuff (Tower of London, Westminster, British Museum) but if there's anything someone wants to throw out there that they would recommend, we'd love to add it to our research.

London is wonderful!

Get a picture in a red telephone booth, and standing next to a palace guard, and then go for a ride on the London Eye!

All very touristy...but fun )

Have a great time!

A long time ago, we took one of the walking tours that I found pretty interesting. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the company or which tour, but you might want to look into one of those. They told you interesting little bits of the history of the area, etc.

The Tate Modern museum was interesting, if you like modern art. Or even if not, just the space (an old power plant) is kind of cool.
