Midgen postedAin't No Sunshine - Bill Withers in the random video thread today, and it made me think of Drift Away - Dobie Gray. Then, I started link-hopping from the sidebar and next thing I know, I've been watching videos for three hours. Among the things I've watched ... Dancing in the Moonlight - King Harvest Right Down the Line - Gerry Rafferty Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty Hello It's Me - Todd Rundgren Couldn't Get it Right - Climax Blues Band Driver's Seat - Sniff'n the Tears Ah Leah - Donnie Iris Fantasy - Aldo Nova The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em) - Greg Kihn Band Sitting on the Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding Every video has between one and three suggestions in the sidebar that I find I absolutely *must* watch ... and the whole thing grows until I find I've spent an entire day doing nothing but watching music on YouTube. |

I find stream of consciousness surfing like that to be very entertaining, and sometimes really rewarding as you'll sometimes stumble across things that are new and interesting. That said, moderation is definitely the key. |

I just killed a half-hour on a message board for the Walking Dead, and had to tell myself to stop. So easy to kill time these days, not like when I was a kid and these songs came out. Boy, "Dancing in the Moonlight" was one of my favorite songs when it came out. Can I retire yet? |
