There is only night on the far side of the Rainbow Bridge; may you find all the meat and mead and righteous battle in Valhalla.

So sorry to hear. I went through this last year, and it was much harder than I thought it would be. I leave you with this quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I've changed my ways a little, I cannot now
Run with you in the evenings along the shore,
Except in a kind of dream, and you, if you dream a moment,
You see me there.”

Sorry man. That's always tough.

I had a beagle named Little Bit. (little bit of dog). But, not having a 50 square mile yard, we could not keep her home, and she was ultimately run over.

Little Bit was 13. She'd have had her 14th birthday in June. She was days to a week old when I found her, nursing the corpse of her mother (or trying) with her dead siblings around her. Her eyes were closed, she was weak, and the vet said she wouldn't last the weekend. She was my miracle.
