I also love that the Blues are telling them to QQ more and learn to play.

I have my 85 DK... he still cannot get into Heroics. I have been in one LFD group with him. (I started working on other toons.) But the only dungeon I went in was a challenge. It was awesome.

Its like... someone else organized and cleaned my kitchen. All the basic stuff is still there, but the forks are where the spatulas go, the baking dishes are where the plates were, and I can't seem to find the goddamn spice rack.

You should try living through this transition as a healer, Mr. Müs! It's like you only have 1 of each utensil in the kitchen and they have to last you a month.

I like it, but... totally different game for healers. I do think they missed their mark on making healing more interesting. I know AE healing is just as scripted/boring as boring, and with reduced threat to tanks in Cata they have made up for it with a ton of AE damage in almost every fight.

At least we got Halfus down this week. He wasn't that hard once we actually tried killing the Whelps. Just had too much AE damage with the Whelps left in their cages to heal through at this gear level, at least for 1 Druid + 2 Shamans which are supposedly a bit weak in the healing output department from what I gather.

I'd say the next boss looks easy but so far I've been wrong on just about every account when I said that so... :p I hear Omnitron council is easy... we'll see...

I was on call today so I figured I'd get in a nice long WoW session and catch up on some things. One of those things was cleaning out my bank of all the Wrath-level tradeskill materials and other assorted junk that piled up over the past 2 years. Ended up making about 1.7k so far off the AH just from putting in undercut Buyouts; I just wanted to make room and didn't care all that much about getting every possible gold from my sales. Anyways, I realized afterwards I had a giant brain fart. I sold about 87 Abyss Crystals for about 650g, totally forgetting that it would have been way more profitable to shatter them into stacks of Dust and Cosmics. Stacks of Dust seem to be around 45g on my server right, and IIRC one Crystal can break into as much as 10 Dusts! Probably could have doubled my money....oh well! At least I've got space back in my bank now hehe.

Huh. This expansion has been unusually kind to me. I've barely run any heroics at all, but the drops(minus god damn trinkets) have been coming in pretty steadily. I did heroic Deadmines this morning and got the axe and bracers. And I just did Heroic Blackrock Caverns about an hour ago and got the Amber Messenger. Usually I struggle throughout the entire expansion trying to get ranged weapon upgrades(I swear to god I ran heroic Steam Vaults about 70 times before I got the Steve Irwin killer bow and Zul'aman before Zul'jin coughed up his bow), but I got this one on my second Heroic BRC run ever. Pretty nifty. Now if I could only win some rolls on trinkets. I have a feeling I'll be buying the valor trinket before anything else. And hopefully the first boss in Heroic Stonecore will drop its trinket.

Any must-have items (like the crossbow from UK in Wrath) that I should be keeping an eye out for? Looking to hit 85 tonight or tomorrow.

Basically what they did in Cataclysm was take all of the loot that drops in normal mode and upgraded it to 347 item level in heroic mode. So, if a bow drops in normal mode, it will drop with the same name but upgraded stats in heroic. Bow drops in Blackrock Caverns(last boss), gun in Vortex Pinnacle(last boss). Trinket in Stonecore(first boss) and Lost City of Tol'vir(last boss). There are about 50 different glove drops, boot drops and helmets. I can only find one pair of pants(off a boss in Tol'vir) and one chest piece(in Throne of the Tides). Couple of bracers, too(last boss in Deadmines drops a pair). Two handed melee weapons come out of Stonecore(last boss), Tol'vir(first boss) and Deadmines(the worgen boss). Don't neglect your rep, either.

Most of that information will be rather useless because you need an average item level of 329, so you won't be able to jump in right away. But level 85 instances(halls of origination, lost city of tol'vir and Grim Batol) all drop 333 stuff. Rep vendors should be able to fill in the rest of the holes, plus major quest chains in Twilight Highlands will give 333 blues. Can get a really nice bow(also 333) from the Crucible in Twilight Highlands(think Ring of Blood/Amphitheater of Anguish)

Well, I just hit 85 and I'm already at 329 item level so.. those same items, they're also the choice heroic loot options?

Pretty much. The gun/bow choice depends on your race. If you aren't a troll or a dorf, either one will be fine. Even the Tol Barad faction has a crossbow that is on par with the heroic drops. Also, as I said before...there are a crap ton of boot, glove and helm drops usable by hunters(though I would say your twilight faction revered helm is probably better than any of the drops and a lot more easy to obtain. Hyjal also has epic 359 boots at exalted, Earthen Ring has a 359 epic ring as well, while Therazane has a 347 ring).

You could always buy the engineering gun or bow as well as they are also 347. Only 1 drop for chest(Throne of the Tides), but leatherworking can craft an epic(same with waist) and there is shoulders, chest, gloves, legs, helm off the justice point vendor, but most of it is rather poorly itemized. Good for filler(if you can't get the drops. chest wasn't dropping for me, so I bought the justice point one) and reforging, though.

I debated on posting this in the Failmory or here.

But, I have perhaps one of the worst Elemental Shaman's in the history of WoW in my Guild. She's a great person other than the fact she's freaking clueless at playing an Elemental Shaman.

I know for some classes, Rogue, Ret Paly's, Enhancement Shaman's even. They have addons that can basically spell out what to push & when to push it? I've never played an Elemental Shaman before but at this point after reading up on things to possibly suggest to her, I suspect that I'm likely more educated on her class & spec than she is.

I'm very tempted to just cut bait but our guild's pretty small and we're about to start doing heroics and having an extra DPS would be helpful. But 3k dps at lvl 85 in a normal dungeon isn't exactly going to cut it.

Point her towards the EJ forums.

Hunters may have been a bit high for survival, but they are basically destroying them. The other two specs were absolute dogshit, and they are being buffed, but they'll be about the same as survival after the giant overnerf that is coming, putting hunters in the middle to slightly below middle. Why the **** they would do this is beyond me. What was so bad about hunters actually being on top? A class has to be on top, why couldn't it be hunters for a change? Now we go back to being mediocre just like all of the expansions before.

5 levels, 10 class overhauls, and we're pulling the same DPS we were pulling in Ruby Sanctum, as far as almost every class is concerned.

Heh. Yeah it's weird. While my DPS has certainly gone up a bit (especially taking into account the ICC buff artificially inflating the numbers I was used to seeing) it feels so... weak playing feral now. Going from crit cap to 35% crit makes such a big difference when crits guarantee you 2 combo points.

I assume the rating conversion difference from 80 to 85 cut back on the potential gains 5 levels would bring for a lot of the specs out there.

Hunter nerfs have been toned down a bit, -15% ES and BA damage and the serpent spread nerf has been reverted(thank god). But we can also now autoshoot while moving(meaning we will now only lose pet DPS on mobile fights) and Arcane shot is getting a 15% increase in damage. I have a feeling before it is all said and done, the -15% will probably -10% and the -5% agility nerf might be reverted as well. We'll see. With the arcane shot buff, it might be better to use it over Explosive Shot. I dunno, though. MM and BM got a huge buff with the AS buff though. I think femaledwarf.com has MM and BM ahead of survival on the PTR now.

They must not want Warriors to be viable DPS. I constantly get out-deepus-ed by Hunters and Warlocks.

Just because you're out dps'd by someone doesn't mean the class isn't viable.

I seem to be having upgrade issues. I still do not have a high enough gear level to get into Heroics. I am sitting at 319 of the required 329. And short of just knocking out regulars... and hoping I can get an upgrade.... I seem to be *** out.

Have you gotten all of the epics and blues from the rep vendors? Everything you get off them is at least 333. Also, you should be getting some justice points by running normal instances as well enabling you to buy 346 gear. It might help if you posted an armory so we could help you find upgrades more easily.
