Is there going to be a free AA respec?

Not that I've heard of. Blizz does that fairly infrequently. We'll probably get one for Cata release, but I don't think 3.3 is throwing one in.

It basically only happens if A) a class's talents are being significantly changed or B) usually following A, a bug was introduced that requires a talent reset + bug fix to remedy. Druids had 72 talent points for a day or two early on in Wrath! We sure got another free respec out of that.

They did that twice? Warriors omce had 52 talent points during the AQ40 days ... it was sick. Death Wish + Mortal Strike

Not that it wouldn't be OP to give Druids an extra talent point, but since our 3 trees are all so different they don't really work well together. If I got an extra talent point right now I suspect my Nourishes have an extra 10% spellpower is all. :p Think it's generally the purer classes that tend to run into those dilemmas to get some X1 (e.g. 31) point talent vs some Y1 point talent.

Back on topic!

Pro: Battle rez going from 20 minutes to 10 minutes will make me a very happy and much less stingy Druid.

Con: Have to go back to a cloak I was wearing in Naxx since a Druid change results in spirit+crit gear being almost universally undesirable. Icehowl, or soon Saurfang, really need to learn how to cooperate on loot to fix this shameful spot in my inventory.

And relatedly, just what class/spec does Blizzard intend the spirit+crit leather gear for? I understand why Blizzard changed the Gift of the Earthmother talent, and agree that it was awkwardly designed at best, but the result of this change isn't really a positive one in terms of itemization.

So Frost badges now right? 2 from the first Heroic you run using the LFG tool or something like that. 5 from the weekly raid raid quest. Plus whatever you get from the 3.3 raids on 10/25 man settings.

Then all the regular heroics have been bumped up to Triumph badges instead of Conquest.

I think that's right?

Blizzard said this once, and you can still track down the quote. I think they changed their minds, though. I was talking to a guildie who was gearing up about it and I initially thought that, then tried to find confirmation. Patch notes say this:

Quote:
# The Heroic Wrath of the Lich King Daily Random Dungeon option will award two Emblems of Frost no more than once a day.
# The normal Wrath of the Lich King Daily Random Dungeon option will award two Emblems of Triumph no more than once a day.
# Continuing to complete Wrath of the Lich King Heroic instances using the Daily Random Dungeon option will award players two additional Emblems of Triumph each time.

This seems to indicate that Conquest badges will still drop, but you can essentially farm Triumphs by just running heroic after heroic with the new dungeon system. Couple that with no other mention of Triumph or Conquest emblems in the patch notes and I have come to the conclusion they changed their minds.

I pretty highly support the 2nd and 3rd new 5 man instances. The last one was even a bit challenging!

New raid was pretty sweet too, from what I saw. Should've had Deathwhisper down but she hit enrage and we wiped with a hair over 1 million hp left.. something like 10 more seconds on the enrage timer and we woulda won. :( Alas. It's definitely a tricky encounter though, at least until you take in and understand your role as it relates to the adds, the resurrected adds, the shields(?) on the adds, etc etc. Kind of takes a bit to find the right balance of putting which people where.

The Spire is amazingly gorgeous and pretty darn impressive!

I didnt get to do too much last night sadly. I queued up for a random dungeon, got a group and then met with a loading screen each time we tried to enter the dungeon. I assume this was from overcrowding.

I got my UI back to acceptable working order in a relatively short time though, so that's good.

instance servers crashed after our 3rd attempt at marrowgar. However, there were trash drops while getting to him. Awesome, awesome trash drops. Check out my new neck item:

We did get the Weekly Raid quest (XT is easy!)

And the fact that random group is cross-server is full of awesome.

Dang, that's a trash drop? Craziness. Hope to get a go at that tonight. We'll see.

The only thing I don't like so far is that all the Ashen Verdict rep vendors are locked inside a raid instance.... Why in the world could they not just be outside the instance?

Post subject:  Re: 3.3 Tomorrow. <If there is a god...> You Are Not Prep...

I kinda agree, in the sense of A) I agree but B) I think the real problem stems from the requirement of being in a raid to enter a raid instance.

Can anyone give me a reason why it's necessary? If I want to enter an instance solo, I'll have a buddy log on an alt or whatever to invite them to a raid. Therefore Blizzard's policy doesn't accomplish its goal, and annoys the player.

The only positive I can get out of this idea is that there will be less raid instances opened, which is less server load. I don't even know if this is true if it means the player goes into a 5 man instance somewhere instead.

Just always found it bothersome and pointless.
