Okay so in an attempt to maximize my character's waaa'gh I have encountered a need for more information. I have recently registered for TankSpot, WowHead, ElitistJerks and WoW Heroes.

Are there any more real good information resources? I have already gone through thottbot and cannot find any good info. And how can I use WoW-Heroes to maximum effect? Does their site tell you what gear you need to upgrade and what you need to get for enchants and gems to maximize a toon?

You might find Rawr to be a benefit.

http://www.codeplex.com/Rawr

In theory, it can tell you how much DPS your gear is capable of putting out under ideal circumstances.(Again, I say in theory.) I've found it handy for hunting down upgrades more as well as taking the DPS or survivability values with a grain of salt.

I believe it's maintained by some of the people who are common contributors on Elitistjerks. I know the one Paly tank, from Tankspot has a hand in the Prot Paly formula's or whatever.

This can also be useful for non jewel crafters.

I don't know much about wow-heroes, but I'm inclined to say that it isn't really helpful in terms of developing your character. It would take an awfully complex piece of software to do that, and as far as I know, wow-heroes and other gear score places/addons only look at item level. Item level is a great indicator of an item's value, but it is FAR from a rule. This is especially true with trinkets, though that may be mostly as result of their being some pretty OP low item level trinkets at the moment.

Rawr is dependent upon the individual class modules. Some are really good, and in those cases it truly is the "awfully complex piece of software" I mention above. Some are not so well recommended, from what I understand. I don't know much about the DK one, however. I'd definitely look into it though, as if is good for DKs, it will really do all the work for you... though of course you should pay attention as it does so you get educated in the process! :p

I use WoWWiki's page on enchantments for all my enchanting needs. http://www.wowwiki.com/Enchantments_by_slot That wiki also has some randomly good info for more arcane mechanics that most people aren't at all interested in. :p

www.mmo-champion.com for all your WoW news.

TankSpot has become the top place for raid strategies as well, so make sure you don't miss that while you're there.

For strictly searching what items drop where or to quickly find a spell, item, or any object in WoW, www.wowhead.com is probably the most streamlined and effecient site.

WoW-Heroes will tell you gem and enchant upgrades for a particular piece of gear, sure. Generally speaking though, for the sake of economy, you may not want to put purple quality gems in any gear less than 245iLevel.

I always liked wowwiki. They have boss strats and drops there, but I like it more for the lore they have collected.

EJ for anything you want to know about classes. Tankspot for boss strats. Curse for mods (go with manual install). Arena Junkies (if you can wade through the muck) for Arena PvP.

wowhead is generally my goto site for general info. Usually I beeline right to the player comments, as 99% of the time they have the most up-to-date information.

Elitist Jerks is definitely good for helping maximize dps. Some of it crams cookie cutter builds a bit too much down your throat, but it's still full of useful information. Best taken in moderate doses and with grains of salt.

Very focused website, but very useful if you play (or want to know more about) a protection paladin : Maintankadin.

I always like THIS site for an easy loot list, although it may not be that helpful these days depending on your character's progress. It has buttons for every class at the top, although the link I posted is to the hunter page :P

Past that, just the one's mentioned already......wowwiki, wowhead, mmo-champions, wowinterface, curse.......OH, and of course dark legacy comics!
