Gettin close! P3 becomes easier the more people live through P2. And P1 technically but no one should die in P1. P3 with all dps alive often means a kill before P3 gets hard. Malleable Goo and Choking Gas lead to troubles. A raid that avoids them should breeze through the fight. :p They're really the silent killer in this fight, in the sense that they lead raids to wipe more than anything, though it isn't particularly obvious. As a Rogue this just means keeping an eye on the Choking Gas Bomb timer. Professor is very punctual, so when the timer is up, don't be behind him. Stabs him from the side until you see them drop, then avoid as necessary. You can avoid every one this way, with pretty much no randomness involved. The only trick is after a phase switch, and even that is pretty strictly the same thing every time though DBM doesn't track it: Malleablo Goo some 5 seconds after he becomes active again, with Deadly Gas Bombs coming nearly right after. Also: Vanish them Tear Gasses! Mages can Invis them, too, though timing is harder on them I believe. 3 tanks, and I assume 6 healers, which leaves 16 dps... in that raid you had 3 Rogues and 3 Mages. That's over a third of your dps (maybe actually a third if you include tank dps, I guess) that can keep going during the long wait between phase changes. It's pretty sweet when all Rogues/Mages in the raid do it right. He'll be dead for you guys pretty soon. :p Then you finally get more tier tokens than just Saurfang's. Very sweet. |

I can get a vanish off on the Tear Gas about 30% of the time on phase 2 transition, and 60% of the time on the phase 1. I need to figure out a way to have Puta's cast bar like front and center so I can see when he's casting it. |

Ah. Yeah that can be a problem if your focus is set up like I think you have it set up! It's one thing to change your focus to Professor (and probably hardcode a Tricks macro that you change each time) but then you'd apparently have to add focus cast bar and stuff too. Troublesome. You'd have to change up a bunch of stuff for Professor alone, more or less, and change it all back afterward. It's darn helpful though! And it can often save your raid if you accidentally leave an ooze up in the P2->P3 transition. That is a big reason to do what you can to perfect it! A full HP ooze up at the start of P3 is pretty much a guaranteed wipe unless your guild's been farming him for probably quite awhile. IMO Professor is just about reaching P3 with a full, healthy raid ready to murder the crap out of the boss. If you can do that you'll kill him every week in just a try or three. So everything you can do to cut down on the random deaths (improper ooze handling, Malleable Goo or Choking Gas explosion thing killing people, or most subtlely too little dps on an ooze due to Malleable Goo or Choking Gas debuff) and have clean transitions is vital to putting him on farm status. So long as your tanks and tank healers have tank swapping down with the huge damage he hits for in P3, it's really a pretty easy phase with everyone alive. |

More than likely I'll just try to convince the raid to call out a Tear Gas Cast. I could focus Putacide and change my focus macro to target=focustarget or something if that'll work. But I think it'll be better for the raid overall if we have a tank call it. Especially if we're going to have a slime up during a transition. |

Müs Could you tell me what addon you are using in the center of the bottom of your screen? Is it one addon that tracks your combo's as well as timers or are they separate? I like that set up. |

Its two addons. One for CPs and DP stacks, and the other is the energy bar. Combo Points Redux and Energy Watch. |

Pitbull (which I believe Mr Mus has installed) can handle that part of it fine, I believe. It's an issue of a) having oozes targeted instead of Professor sometimes, so any cast bars related to your Target are not reliable, and b) like many Rogues, he appears to use Focus for Tricks of the Trade. Tricks target often changes from fight to fight, so a lot of people use a macro "/cast [@focus] Tricks of the Trade" and just change their focus for each fight depending on who needs it. Doing this, you can't use your focus' cast bar either. Leaves having the tank call it out on Vent as the only remaining option that I'm aware of. Maybe DBM has an optional announce feature in raid warning when the cast starts. It's only a 2.5 second cast though, so when you add in Vent lag you don't really have a ton of time. Though now that I think about it, you also have the time it takes the tear gas vial to fly through the air and hit the ground, too? Hrm. If that's the case, perhaps the addition of Vent lag to the process won't be so bad. In only slightly related news, I really hate Queen. We've killed her 3 times and she's still not on farm. We murder Festergut in 4:21 and kill Queen as she enrages, on the 1 in a million attempts we don't mess up bites. I'm usually pretty proud of what my guild accomplishes in the number of attempts we actually spend, but 6+10 attempts over two raid days for first kill, 5 for second, then 10 for third is ...not something to be pleased about. Farm status is elusive on her for some reason... at least for my guild. Alas. |

Yeah, its a targeting issue more than anything. I have a couple of tricks macros, as well as an assist macro that run off my focus. One of the Tricks macros is a permanent [target=darkmoore] [cast=tricks of the trade], the other trickses my focus (usually the tank, sometimes the other rogue, or another melee if Dark dies. That way, I can change it mid fight to keep the tricks buff active on *someone*) I think I should be able to convince the tank to call it on vent so the 6 of us that can get out of it can do so. Especially if he calls "Hey, he's @ 71%, get ready to vanish... ok... casting now" And its Shadowed Unit Frames, not Pitbull Also, I want to strangle our Warrior. He's not sundering I told him last night I was gonna buy him a Sunder Armor key for christmas. |

So, we're working on 10m LK at the moment, and beating him will be a big thing for the guild. I wanted to create a sort of intro thing to lead into the actual fight video (Which I'm going to edit the crap out of because 18 minutes of WoW is a LONG BLOODY FIGHT OMG.) I need to work on my camera skills a bit, and not run all the time. I feel like goddamn Michael Bay I shot about 2 mins of running around, and ended up with like 17 usable seconds. In any event though, I think its cool |
