I am watching my guild disintegrate, and have decided that it is time to shut down my WoW account.

It's been a good run. I started day 4, sharing an account with my then minor son. Learned to solo, then group, then raid. Got good enough to stay on my target, stay out of 'bad stuff', and switch roles correctly when things go wrong. My relexes are too slow to do a top guild.(I ain't young anymore :-p) I've gotten to see the Lich King, gotten a rusted proto-drake, and done A Tribute to Skill. Played with good people (my current guild) and some a-- (my previous guild).

So, any suggestions about what I should do with my last week?

Sometimes taking a break can be the best thing you can do in WoW.

Figure out what gave you the most enjoyment in the game, and then later, when you feel up to it, dive back in & try to find what you enjoyed the most.

What class are you? I think you start an alt of the exact opposite archetype or play style.

Hmm.... Rogue, kitty, enhancement shammy, or fury warrior?

They all have a similar flavor really. I would say Wars and Rogues are the harder ones to level, as druids and shammies both have self heals.

Plus druids can tank, dps range and melee, and heal. So, pretty much any playstyle fits there.

I love my Druid to pieces, but unless you straight solo I think it would be kind of awkward to level as a cat. You don't get a lot of really important abilities til pretty late. For example, our only AE attack comes at level 71. Savage Roar is, at the moment, a HUGE part our balance, and that doesn't come til 75.

It's fine soloing and all, though. In fact, feral is very good at soloing. Murders nonelites speedily and is quite capable with elites via bear. There's always the option to fall back to healing with this char too if you so choose!

Enh Shamans are pretty... spammy compared to Rogues and Ferals. They're also really good at soloing leveling up. They didn't compare with Ferals, but most hard quests pre-WotLK were nerfed a lot or a bit and with cooldown use they're quite capable. They also provide almost as many respeccing options as Druids if having that option available months down the road is of value. :p

Fury warriors intrigue me but aside from leveling one through low levels with a healer partner I don't have any firsthand experience. I think I have a love/hate relationship with the Rage mechanic.

As Mr. Mus says they're all fairly similar in the grand scheme of things, though. The differences between them will be minor compared to the change you'll see coming from a healer.

I miss my enh shaman, if for nothing else than I miss being able to solo Threat From Above in tier 7.5 gear.

But yeah, taking breaks from WoW is great. You'll eventually be back, but it's nice to have big breathers. I don't see how people can play without ever taking one.

Enh Shamans are great soloers, and bring a lot to a group as well. With the new totem tool, managing totems is easy too.

I was enh for a while on mine, then I went ele/resto and have never looked back. After 70, the pewpewing just felt more entertaining :)

I keep thinking about trying Ele, but just haven't gotten up the energy to farm the gear. Enh was IMHO a little more fun in BC when we were STR based. With the crusader enchant and some good gear you could do some wicked damage. It was really really spikey tho, so you had to be careful. But that was all part of the fun for me.
