In California, it depends on the percentage of stoners around. They are definitely higher. Most of us just enjoy living in the 80% of California that never sees snow, is relatively low humidity and is close to something worth going to.

New York and Massachusetts I've spent very little time in. I'll let the residents of those States speak ill of them.

In California, it's the liberals, the Gov't officials they keep electing along with the union heads and their dues-generating automatons. They all think that more gov't spending more benefits and more entitlements can all be paid for by "taxing the rich".
