Forwarded by a friend, thought I'd share.

**DEADLY TERMS USED BY WOMEN**

1.FINE-This is the word women use to end an argument when they KNOW they are right and you need to shut up.

2.NOTHING-This means SOMETHING and you should be wary.

3.GO AHEAD-This is a dare, NOT permission. DON'T DO IT!

4.WHATEVER-is a woman's way of saying F*YOU!

5.THAT'S OKAY-she's thinking long and hard before deciding HOW and WHEN you will pay for your mistake

-----------

So, do these definitions make sense or have effect in your life?

Somewhere in my brain, I know these definitions... but when the chips are down I always seem to forget.

No, that's a cat 5 storm raging all around me, I'm just oblivious to it... like always.

I end up knowing I'm in trouble after I'm already hip deep. THEN, I have no idea what it was I did, THEN I have no idea how to get out of trouble, since A) it takes an apology, and B) you have to know what you did wrong to apologize effectively. Blanket "I'm sorry" apologies don't seem to do much. Not enough groveling, I suppose.

When I was younger, I never used this method of communicating. After years of failure of direct communication with my son's father, I admit I picked it up.

Hmmm, this would probably work with me, but I suspect not with a lot of women I know. It may deflect incoming damage, however.

No, the male definition is as follows:

1) FINE - Either means fine, "it's legitimately not important enough to discuss", or "whatever" (see below for definition of "whatever")
2) NOTHING - means nothing or "it's legitimately not important enough to discuss".
3) GO AHEAD - Also means a dare, except that he really does want you to attempt this.
4) Whatever - means "I really don't give a ****", or "stop bothering me with this".
5) That's ok - means that's ok.

I don't buy it. Men and women speak the same language. This is just stereotyping not based on evidence.

You've only been in a relationship with a female so your opinion isn't solid.

I've been in a great many long-term relationships with men. I also happen to be male.

Yes, this is stereotyping. So what? Stereotypes are not inherently negative; they are just observations of something that is true often enough to catch notice. They also are based on evidence; observational anecdotal evidence repeated many times by many people. That may be scientifically weak, but it is not the same as "not supported by evidence." If it weren't supported by evidence, stereotypes would be random, nonsensical assertions like "All women like to go deep sea fishing."

Furthermore, opinions are opinions, and don't need to be solid. Not only that, but only having been in a romantic relationship with women does not mean one cannot make observations about men's behavior in them. We see people around us in such relationships all the time. If these observations were equally common regarding men the stereotype would eb A) about people in general, B) equally as frequently related by both sexes about the other or C) would not exist. None of these is the case, so the evidence, anecdotal though it may be, indicates that men do not do this with the same frequency. You are incorrect.

I would mostly agree, with a few very minor changes.

1) FINE: "Your solution is acceptable, although I appriciate you running this by me."
2) NOTHING: "Believe me, I'll tell you if something is wrong. I'm not in the mood to have a lengthy discussion. Please remove yourself from infront of my television."
3) GO AHEAD: "Oh, God. I **** dare you. This is going to turn out sooooo badly for you. I completely absolve myself from dealing with any **** fall-out."
4) WHATEVER: "Why are you bothing me with this ****? Aren't you minimally competant? Do I have to decide everything?"
5) THAT'S OK: "Don't worry about it. We're on the same page, and I'm not put out by your decision enough to care."

6) WORKS FOR ME: "Your solution is acceptable and I appreciate you running this by me."

Tweaked slightly...

Moving the goalposts. First it was all of them, now its just these 3. Where's your evidence? You don't need to link anything, just find some folks who share your opinion. So far, everyone here agrees women use them like this, but everyone except you notes that men use them differently or not at all.

I try to generally say what I mean.

I generally resond with a "Ok, well I take that as a go do this. If you complain for feel bothered by it later and try to make me feel bad, I'm going to not care. Then I'm going to remind you of this conversation."
