I've been slacking too much the past month and a half! Time to get back at it! Between the stress of my hubby's younger brother attempting suicide to make everyone feel guilty, holidays, and dog bites I've started smoking again. :(

So new goals...

1) Quit smoking (again) by my birthday
2) Exercise every day
3) Lose another 10-20 pounds

in that order.

Just got my blood test results....

A1C 5.2% (up from 5.1% in May...someone forgot to order the A1C test in Sept. Still good though)
cholesterol 199 (down from 203 in Sept.)
triglycerides 223 (up from 137 in Sept. not good)
HDL 83 (down from 91 in Sept. but still good)
LDL 71 (down from 85 in Sept. very good)

Holiday foods and beverages are the devil!! Back to the normal diet now!

Yay!! My doctor is happy with my test results..especially my glucose and A1C results!! He said my daily blood test chart is good, my blood pressure is down, and we may lower my BP meds when I see him in May!!! And I've lost another 2 pounds!!! I'm a happy camper!

I'm making good progress in the smoking department...by end of this month I WILL be smoke free!!!

Now I just need to get hubby over to Vasona Park Reservations Office to get our Lifetime Parking Pass for Seniors to our county parks! I would do it myself but I have 3 more years before I can get it...need to be 60+ years old. :( Never thought I'd be sad to be so much younger than him! :P

Haven't updated in a while...

We finally got our Senior Parking Pass, but the last couple of months he has been so busy with work and getting retirement stuff settled we haven't walked as much as I'd have liked. The past week, though, we have walked 1 1/2 to 2 miles a day! :)

I'm down to 142 (3 pounds less than my wedding day almost 29 years ago)

Still smoking but not as much (didn't realize how stressful it can be to have a husband underfoot all day long every day :o )

Been doing weights, squats, and pushups, but need to add some crunches now that I'm over the weight loss plateau...weight may be going away but excess skin isn't (and probably never will without surgery :( )

May try a little bit of jogging in place (while waiting for hubby to catch up...he is a slow walker) now that I have some knee braces to help the knees withstand the pain.

Been sick for the past week, but was walking 1 1/2 to 2 miles a day before that plus any other exercises I could fit in during the day. I'm down to 139 pounds, my goal weight wise being ~127. Still have a LOT of work to do to tighten everything up, though. I'm getting there! :D

Down to 136 pounds...too much, too soon! Losing muscle, not fat! :( Digestive tract problems are not good, especially when the doctor doesn't listen! At least he got me in to see a gastroenterologist. I'm scheduled for a couple of procedures on the 18th. Been on probiotics for a few days as well, maybe they will help since I have no appetite and can't eat without having problems. Food sounds good, I want to eat...but when I sit down to a plate I just can't eat. :(

135 pounds and holding....

Estimated average glucose 103 ( range 85-126)
A1c% 5.2
Cholesterol 168 (range <239)
LDL cholesterol 65 (range <129)
HDL 85 (range >45)

My doctor was very pleased with my recent (nonfasting this time) test reults, as was I! My blood pressure has it's ups and downs, but mostly down recently!

When I told my doctor I wanted to lose another 10 pounds he looked at me and asked "why? healthwise you are fine, you dont need to lose any more weight". I told him it's not so much the weight as it is the belly fat that doesn't want to go away just yet.

I've been losing the good fat (boobs) instead of the bad fat (belly) and exercise hasn't been doing much against the bad that I can see. :(
