I am currently trying to figure out a good blend of Vitamins to take to help promote energy and health, as well as replace things I am no longer allowed to eat.

I am currently taking:
Metformin (2x daily)
Potassium (1x daily, I was told to try and avoid bananas due to high sugar content)
Lutein (1x daily, I was told that carrots were high in sugar content)
Cinnamon (2x daily, I have heard that cinnamon can help regulate glucose levels in the body)
Ferrous Sulfate (1x daily. I have taken this for a while, my tattoo artist recommended eating fish for a few days prior to getting a tattoo to ensure high iron content and assist in the healing process, so I have taken the pills since. And now I figure if it helps heal a tattoo well, it cannot hurt to continue taking it since I will heal more slowly now anyway.)

There are a couple I have been thinking of adding to my regimen, and would like any input you all can provide.

Fish Oil (Mainly for the Omega 3 and fatty acids. I have heard these can help in manging high cholesterol, and I had an allergic reaction to my cholesterol meds, and was pulled off of them by the doctor.)
Vitamin B (I have no clue what exactly I want here.. but I thought it was a good one for energy)

The last one... I am unsure of which of these two I want... I know one of them helps a guy produce excessive amounts of man-goo (not the one I want) and the other helps the skin regain elasticity (which I want since I have lost weight) Vitamin E or Vitamin K.

First, unless there is documentation from a source you trust all of this comes under the category of urban legend.

Maybe its true, maybe it isn't.

Some of it is made up by unscrupulous marketers, who word it carefully using words like might, may, and studies indicate (without naming the studies).

Yes, bananas and carrots are high sugar.

Here is the Linus Pauling Institutes take on K and E - and E is the one associated with skin healing.

Always check with legitimate sources, marketers will say close to anything and people repeating what they've read with out an anti-marketing filter going say some of the stupidest things. Do not buy into any supplement stuff you can't read supplemental documentation on, marketers and basically anyone trying to sell you something will say just about anything, not caring if its true, not caring if it might kill you, they just want your money. Cynical, yes, but protect yourself man.
