I have been trying to get back into the swing of things again, I figure this is a good time to really dig in for my fresh lease on life. I signed up for sparkpeople.com today, hoping to do well with this. I have set a goal of 80lbs lost by March 5, 2012. This has been brought up by the fact that I have really been slacking on a LOT of things. I slacked on measuring my glucose levels and when I restarted... I was up close to 300 2 hours after eating. I have put back on about 10 lbs, etc. I have even been looking at their recipe site and holy crap... YUM! a lot of low carb, high fiber and high protein stuff. |

Yah the best thing for me has been finding food I really like that is also good for you. Those are the kinds of changes you can make that are lifetime rather than just some fad diet thing you do for a few weeks or whatever. |

Well sparkpeople allows you to turn off the Menu Planner and just track your calories. I have actually found that being consciously aware of those calories is helping me a lot. **** up fun fact: I would have thought that a Subway Footlong Tuna Sammich on Honey Wheat would be better for me than a Taco Bell Grilled Stuffed Steak Burrito... holy **** was I wrong... like 1160 calories to 320 calories kind of wrong.... So... no more subway foot long sammiches for me ever. Today is the first time since starting this thing on Saturday that I have gone over my calories. And sadly, I am still hungry today where I have not been for the past several days. **** Subway*. *no offense meant to any gladers who work here or own stock there. |

Subway was amazingly successful in the sense that they convinced the public that footlong subs are healthy. |

Note that it *really* depends what kind of sub you order. Tuna is one of the worst... Their turkey subs or a veggie sub only pack about 450 calories for a footlong. Tuna is second only to the meatball marinara and the chicken and ranch, from what I recall. |
