Do it, do it now. Change any bad habits into good ones. Don't delay. I'll be spending the price of a pretty decent car (used) on my teeth in the next couple years. learn from your foolish elders. It can happen to you. Thanks, brush and floss, especially the ones you want to keep for a lifetime. |

Hah, yeah, I have about $4K of work the dentist wants to do. He started with replacing a crown ... which then turned into a five-month saga, including a root canal and repeated visits. I'm kind of gun-shy about going back right now, unless it's for the free stuff I can get done on the insurance. |

I learned my lesson with a cavity that I didn't want to spend ~$200 dollars on that turned into a root canal and crown that cost me around $1500. Tooth pain is not to be ignored. Best of luck, Micheal. |

It cost me a few thousand dollars, after insurance, to learn this very lesson. I had no pain and didn't even know that I had bone tissue disappearing. It was discovered during a regular cleaning visit, which is recommended every six months. After bone grafts and bite adjustments, I have mine cleaned every 90 days and eat the cost of two cleanings a year. |

I had to get a deep cleaning recently and it was expensive. I'm also told it's very important because gum disease can allow bacteria that are bad for your heart, kidneys, and other oragns to get into your bloodstream. |

Good advice, especially since dental insurance coverage is typically so weak. I go to the dentist every 4 years or so. But I floss, and brush twice a day. I grind the crap out of my teeth, though |
