Every now and then I get it into my head that I need to make cute food for the sake of making cute food. Last time this happened I tried making caramel tarts and ruined a couple pans. This time I'm making tiny cookie sandwiches and cake lollipops. What's your favorite cute food? (Or pretty food? Or funny food?) |

I sometimes make spiders for various events (usually halloween parties) ritz cracker sandwich with peanut butter (or Nutella!). Stick 8 pretzel sticks out the sides for legs. put the mini-ritz cracker sandwiches on one side for a head and make little eyes with gnutella. easy to make en masse and usually a big hit. |

Ooh, thanks, the next snacktime for my kids might be more fun for them! The only cute food I do is to try and make smiley faces in pancakes for my kids. They sometimes come out OK, but the timing is hard. Evil, black, burnt eyes aren't a hit in the mornings. |

Ok, found a new recipe. Marshmallow on a stick. Dip quickly in water, roll in sparkly sugar sprinkles. I would recommend not telling the dentist about these. Or you could dip in chocolate then roll in crushed gram cracker crumbs. If smores on a stick sound appealing. |

I use to love making quail egg rabbits. e.g. and Fairy bread was always a favourite for breakfast. just butter and sprinkle! There's also a place here where you can buy cakes in the shape of sushi. Not really yummy but totally cute. |

Kirra wrote: Lydiaa...how could cake not be yummy? Haha, I'm a bit of a prude when it comes to sweet food cause I don't eat much of it =P It needs a suitable sugar level, softness level, creamy level and taste level (ie chocolate needs to taste chocolate, greentea tastes greentea, etc) in order for it to be really good. As this place (it's called breadtop) is mostly a bakery, they make really good bread, and semi decent cakes. However when it comes to fancy cute cakes, they lack the quality that often accompany their bread. I am still a sucker and buy it for cuteness anyways haha~ |

Kirra wrote: Cute food should only be sweet... I dunno about Quail eggs, Lydiaa.. Quail eggs are the single most important invention by... well Quails =P They are great, they taste exactly like eggs, but so much cuter! Plus they are a perfect mouthful! quail sunny side up eggs are just adorable on tiny pieces of bread ^-^ but I prefer tiny sized poached quail eggs over smoked salmon on toasted white bread (cut into cute shapes) drizzled with hollandaise sauce... It ensures that you get the full runny yoak, no dirty plates =P |
