I don't know much about the stuff. Oh, I know it's corn whiskey, invented in Kentucky. When it comes to whiskies, I know scotch, rye, irish. I don't know bourbon.

Jim Bean "The Devil's Cut" was a poor bourbon to try first.

I need a relatively common and reasonably priced bourbon to try, so throw advice for your favorite Kentucky poison my way. It's no fun to buy it blind.

Save your money...that is my advice to you. I have been told by someone that likes the ****, Makers Mark is good. That being said, they are part of the Beam family. I think it is all horrid.

I'm no bourbon expert. In fact, I never really much cared for it or whiskey. I have drank some of both, but I can't really say I'd be of help. My dad drank Old Charter, and only Old Charter.

It should be easy to find, and relatively inexpensive.

Scroll down the page to read short descriptions on it and other buffalo trace brands of bourbon.

Also, maybe more descriptive, from buffalo trace's website....

Nice, Khross, I was just gonna post that.

Taly:
Make cocktails. I'm partial to Kentucky Mules: 1.5 oz bourbon + splash of lime juice over ice, ginger beer to fill.

I wanna make Mint Juleps.

Put some mint in the Mule, it's a common garnish and the drink is superior.

There's actually a "Georgia Mint Julep" that involves bourbon, peach schnapps (rather than sugar/simple syrup) and mint leaves that is pretty good even with the horrible Jim Bean "The Devil's Cut" i used. I want to try it with Woodford...

(Also, I hate the taste of ginger beer.)
