ugh....

I haven't been to see a movie in forever... so on a whim I decided to skip the evening commute grind on 405 and go down the street to the movie theater. I had no idea what was even playing. When I saw that the next movie to start was The Green Hornet in 3D, I figured I'd give it a go.

What a mistake.

Honestly, this was the worst movie theater experience I've ever had. Honestly, the only good thing I can say about it is that I pretty much had the theater to myself. The theater itself was actually pretty nice. Very comfortable seats, etc...

This was my first 3D experience, and I can honestly say, I hate it. I would honestly have preferred to watch this abomination in 2D, so at least I wouldn't have had to deal with a headache afterwards. I don't think it added anything , and was really just a headache causing distraction. I kept wanting to chuck the glasses across the room out of frustration and disgust...

I'm not much for movie reviews, so I'm not going to bother with any details about what I didn't like about it (besides the 3D). I'll just say that was not at all what I was expecting (or hoping for). They should have called this Dumb and Dumber rides again or something, it was that bad.... ugh...

Midgen,

Thank you for the warning. I was contemplating breaking my theater hiatus on this movie. But since you do not normally do movie reviews... your ringing endorsement on this seals it: I will now wait for it to appear on Network TV.

I heard they almost made no use of 3D anyway, and the most impressive part in 3D was the credits. Truly a gimmick.

Definitely not the first film to see in the "new" 3D. I'd say that honor goes to either Avatar or Tron, so far the most impressive.

It wasn't that bad. It wasn't great but it wasn't horrible. That being said, I would like to see what the script looked like before Seth Rogan worked on it. It would be a good DVD rental just to see Kato whip some ***. I just saw it in 2D by the way.
